Chilling

Shimelle's 6th and last video in 'Return to the Collection' was about using up all the scraps that are leftover.Although she did have a photo chosen.....it did have me twitching a bit watching her just stick pieces all over her background without even a nod to the photo and where it was going to go or what colour it was!!.
But I decided to be brave and go with the flow....though I did know that all the colours in this collection would compliment the photo!!
So a variety of scraps were stuck fairly randomly on the page......the mounted photo added....with some journaling alongside it.
Shimelle had made some circular embellishments using the collection paper.....I did similar....but where she added lots of little pieces on the page around the circles.....I stopped with just the circles.....though I couldn't resist using the chevron punch again.
I think the page did come together okay despite so many patterns on it.
This class has certainly encouraged me to be a lot braver with patterned paper!!
If you've been looking at at my last few posts.....you may wonder why I've skipped video 5....there is a very good reason.....and I'll come back to that another day.
Happy Valentine's Day to you all.

Great layout - and couldn't we all use some of that sunshine right now!

Your chevron is perfect for leading the eye - and all those patterns just add to the zing. Love yellow this time of year!

It's a ray of sunshine on one of the darkest days of the year yet here. I love the way the patterns echo the zippy holiday checks on the hat in the picture

I think I would have been twitching too, but it's worked really well. What I wouldn't give to be sitting in the sun right now. It is wild out there tonight.

It would be a great layout regardless of the process, but it's amazing how it all came together if you did the background randomly. I love the bright, sunny colors!

It's a very happy page - full of sunshine! I'm not sure I'd have been as brave as you with the scraps though. Sounds like it was a good course.
