A visit to Lincoln

It's become a bit of a tradition for us to visit a christmas market in December.....last christmas we visited York.....which was very disappointing.....not York itself....that was lovely.....the market not so much.
We'd heard good things about the Lincoln market......and the fact that trying to book a hotel for the market weekend was almost impossible.....even back in September......boded well....and everything we'd heard was right....it was a great christmas market.....the only problem was the thousands of other people who'd heard how good it was!!!!
Which also made it almost impossible to take photos as well.
We couldn't find anywhere in our price range to stay in Lincoln.....so after a lot of internet surfing and looking at reviews.....booked a couple of nights at The Black Horse Inn at Blyton......which turned out to be perfect.....in a little village......a great room.....excellent and plentiful food at very reasonable prices.....a good selection of real ales for OH.....and fairly close to the 'park and ride' to take us to the market. I'd highly recommend it.So my first JYC market page shows the Inn.....part of our booking form.....and the pub's menu which we ate from on the Friday night.
I've then added the Market guide we picked up.......and the Lincoln map........we actually found these really useful.....and it did try to snow......luckily it didn't succeed.
Last is a Simple Stories page protector with a few photos.......I didn't take many......partly because there were so many people around.......and partly I was too busy looking round the cathedral......the 200 odd stalls spread over quite a wide area.....tasting all sorts of food and drink delicacies......bagging a few bargains......walking up and down hills that were so steep they could have been part of a mountain range.......listening to live bands......diving in and out of shops......and having a delicious evening meal at Prezzo.
A thoroughly enjoyable weekend.......Lincoln Christmas Market is definately on the recommended list!

Looks like it was well worth the visit. I've only been to Christmas markets in Germany and Belgium but am very tempted by Lincoln now!

I haven't been to Lincoln in years, and certainly not in December ~ I shall have to go!

OMGosh! That sounds so wonderful! I really like doing something like that at Christmas. I've only been to England once and fell totally in love. I would love to come back at Christmas time. Here, there's no place like New York at Christmas. Great layouts!

We've visited Christmas markets in Vienna and Prague but never in this country. But maybe maybe we will now :)
