Monaco musings

We went from the 'old town' of Monaco into Monte Carlo.......again having to park underground........and you'd hardly believe the comparison......I'm afraid that if I was rich enough to live in Monte Carlo.....I'd choose to live somewhere else....the pretty French coastal villages were far more attractive to me!
It's a concrete jungle.....growing ever upwards and outwards.......there's no real beach as they've reclaimed it to build on......I added some personal comments/musings to my page.
'One of the safest places on earth' refers to the fact that when we visited there were only 2 prisoners in the country's prison......that must be an incentive for the rich to live there!!
OH and D [as big Grand Prix fans] set off to walk the hallowed tunnel and visit the casino [where they saw the gold plated ferrari].......G and I decided on a stroll along the virtually empty promenade.......and a visit to the small Japanese Garden.....which is built on top of the coach park......and was both beautiful and so peaceful......I think a mini book of the photos I took there may be my next project.
And so ended our cruise.....though I do still have a few 'on board' photos that I've scrapped.

Lovely layouts - as always and I have to totally agree with you about Monaco, I have never been there but from you photos it looks so built up and commercialized.

Hi Jacky, just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed your cruise scrapbook ... I haven't been to any of those places, but so would love to!

Concrete jungle - so true! And such a shame when the natural beauty is so - um - beautiful...? (Well put, Mel! *sigh!*)

I don't think I'd want to live there--too much concrete!

I've really enjoyed these pages. I remember Monaco just the way you described it. Even as a young woman, I had no interest in it.

Your holiday pages are a triumph. It's interesting to read the comments here and see how many of us are in agreement about the place

It does make you wonder what the attraction is doesn't it?! I heard a radio program once where someone who was SUPER rich said that they felt comfy hanging out with other SUPER rich people because then they didn't have to feel embarrassed about how much money they had! And another person who kept her enormous recent wealth a secret as she wanted to keep her old friends.
Money does not make you happy!

No desire to live anywhere remotely close to that. Can't wait to see the garden pics :)
