Countdown to Christmas 6- Gift cards

I like giving 'real' gifts.......and I avoid giving cash as a gift whenever possible....but sometimes....especially for older teenagers and 20 somethings.....choosing the right gift can be really difficult......so then I do sometimes resort to a gift card......for use in a favourite shop. I know my nieces love shopping at New Look and my nephews always need 'car bits' from Car Crazy....much better that they choose what they really want....than have to return my 'wrong' choice!!!!
But I do like to make a gift card holder to pop it inside......just a bit more personal. The top one just flips open for the gift card to sit inside.

These two are more 'girly'........and open up like a card. The cupcakes were a free download.
Inside they just need a pocket to tuck the gift card into......mine match the papers used on the outside
And if it's a voucher......rather than a card........a longer version........with a long pocket inside.
I'm hoping they'll like them......I'm pretty sure they'll like what's inside them!!!!

I'm with you Jacky - I like everyone to have something to unwrap! But in these instances personalised gift card holders are the next est thing & these are all gorgeous! x

Oh some people are just too hard to buy for and these are the perfect alternative! Thanks for the inspiration, I need to make a few myself and had no clue where to start! x

I'm giving few gift cards this year, but the ones I am will be in handcrafted gift card holders as well. Yours are lovely, and I'm sure they'll like the gift as well as the packaging.

I always worry about giving vouchers but love the way you've made it more personal

I'm with you when it comes to gift cards, Jacky. Would much rather give a personal gift, but there is an age bracket that's really difficult to buy for. Your gift card holders are great - and they certainly make even a gift card a more personal gift!

I know what you mean! I usually pair the gift card with a small handmade gift (or a handful of cards).

Very clever. The top one is great for a male.

Clever idea Jacky...I have resorted to Amazon Vouchers for various nieces and nephews this year, and sent them as emails-and that felt REALLY impersonal. Maybe next year I will print them out and make gift card like these- thanks for the inspiration!

Which reminds me... I have some gift card holders to create myself! I have some people for whom gift cards is really the only answer. But at least I can make them pretty!
