Shimelle's 5th prompt was all about distressing and border punches. I often use torn paper and distress ink on my pages......I like the slightly distressed look......so using torn papers and adding some ink wasn't too difficult.
But border punches......I rarely use them in scrapbooking.......only in cardmaking.......but as Shimelle had suggested we went a bit overboard with them.......I cut lots of strips [from my 'kit']......border punched a few of them [with an SU punch].....and used them all over the place.....though not particularly as borders!
More pages for my holiday album......this was the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge as we entered Bristol....on a page like this I often like to put a bit of factual info......from guide books or the internet......which I might forget....and will be interesting to read later.
I also wrote on some of the strips.....not something I usually do.
The 2nd page also uses my kit papers........but a little bit of plain cardstock.....though as I did add some plain to the kit.......I'm happy with that.....there's no way I could make a whole album without using any plain card!

These are great Jacky! I especially like the little ones on the right and how you wrote on the strips. You're getting so much done.
By the way, did you see you won a prize over at Kath's blog?
congrats!

I like how you used your border punch and also the plain card stock.
Love the layouts Jacky, you or someone take great photos!
FAB layouts and I love that I recognised the places too (being a Bristolian myself!).
Happy Tuesday

Two more great layouts and I like the way you used the scallop border punched pieces of paper xx

I like that, with all of the beautiful paper you have used, you have still made room for journaling! Excellent work Jacky, I can see that you have, and are, really enjoying this class!
Fab LO Jacky love your pics x
love the placement of your punched strips-great page!
I find I often use card stock as a mat when I'm using more patterned paper. Like you, it's hard for me to not to use plain cardstock. Your vacation album is looking great!
Those borders are really subtle and enhance the great wide-angled shots. I can't imagine not using plain cardstock either!
Like the layouts Jacky :) the border punch strips look great.
I love the way the border punched strips enhance the photos too - looks fantastic!
And on a sidenote - I have very happy memories of visiting an aunt and uncle in their caravan round about there somewhere when I was about five
