A day in Bath

We spent a rather rainy day in Bath......but while the girls honed their shopping skills........OH,G and I had a damp wander round.

A look round the Jane Austen museum......though their Mr Darcy wasn't quite up to Colin Firth standards!!!!
 Bath Cathedral

Sally Lunn's....the oldest building in Bath.....built in 1482......and home to the famous Bath bun.....but when we saw the price of them.....we retired across the road to a lovely little tea room......where they came warm with butter.......and cost considerably less!!!

The Pulteney Bridge......one of only 2 bridges in Europe that were built with shops on them [the other is in Florence].....and when you walk across it.....you'd never know you were on a bridge.
The girls joined us by the riverside.....everybody smiling......due to the pleasures of shopping....or maybe because it had actually stopped raining!!

I've read about Bath in various novels and TV shows but never actually saw photos of it. Looks like a lot of fun to tour this place.

Bath is some place that I would really like to go. I had a lot of Jane Austen moments in England.

Enjoying my own virtual vacation with you and your family Jacky - thanks for sharing the pix

I've never been to Bath, and it looks very elegant. You clearly had a good day, and I love that photo of the tree!

Bath is the next place on our list of places to visit Jacky!. We had hoped to go this year but Claire's going back to work this week and I'll be looking after Alice Mon, Wed and Fri so we won't be getting a few days away - the best we're doing is a quick trip up to Milton Keynes to see where DH works ;-) xxx
