Making a Friendship canvas- Part 4- the final touches

Parts 1,2 and 3 are here, here and here.
The basics of the canvas are done......but I think the finishing touches make all the difference to it.
Outlining everything.......and adding a few doodles........ makes it all stand out much more....and gives added texture.
This is the first canvas I've used stickers on........for some of the flowers and leaves.......and think they look fine.
I added the words that I wanted.......and they fitted perfectly in by a stamped heart.......which hadn't been planned!!

And quite a few more rub ons.......think I'll have to stock up on them!!!!
And the piece is finally finished.

Hope you like it.......and have enjoyed seeing how it was made......why not try making one yourself......or go and look at the wonderful one on Deb's blog
In answer to a couple of questions....
Sian.......you could make one in 2 sessions......it does need awhile to dry after the painting......basically I made it over 3 sessions.....because I like to leave the girl to 'settle in' before adding the final touches......though I did find myself adding little bits as I passed!!!!!.
Rinda......the green neck and waist is cut from a long paper flower strip........I coloured the centre black......and outlined in black.

I like it a lot JAcky, especially having seen how it developed - thanks for sharing.

btw:- I've had no trouble with blogger this afternoon AND I'm logged back in to CB too! Must be volcanic ash or those solar flares!!!

Happy Wednesday

I'm really impressed with this - I think it looks great - you are really inspiring me to do some art journalling. I've tried to comment earlier but blogger playing up!

It's gorgeous Jacky! Thanks for answering my question - you have made it seem possible for someone who isn't at all arty, like me for example.

what a great project, not sure I will be creating one anytime soon, but I feel I might be able to after your fab tutorial xxx

I tried to comment yesterday about how much I loved this project but Blogger kept signing me out! Love the little girl and everything about this Jackie - just gorgeous.

This is beautiful! I am so inspired by yours and my mom's canvases - I might just have to make one myself!

She turned out beautiful Jacky! I couldn't finish any of mine in three sittings - more like six or eight. I would get sky done one night, grass the next, sun a few nights later, then overall background texture, then the girl, then stuff and more stuff, and finish off with my phrase and final touches. But I love the evolution, the unplanned perfection, and the way the whole piece seems to take on a life of it's own!

One, day, one day ... you gave the clean and simple go so I must return the favour! When I can unpack the paints and my canvases I am going to try something a little more 'layered' and technique based!

This is really a lovely piece Jacky, friendly for sure, but also bright and energetic!

Awesome! If I keep making progress on my work-work, I might treat myself to this class before it goes away.

Well Jacky she does look complete... The rubons and words always seem to add just that extra oomph! I love your words on this one Jacky :)

This really is fantastic and not something I could do at all! I just haven't got the imagination to come up with something like this. Hope you have a good weekend.
