She Art Review......music rocked her soul

The She Art class has finished.....luckily the classroom is open for another 3 months...... because I haven't finished......I still have Week 3 to go.......I'm behind as always........and I don't think I will ever finish with this class.......I love making the canvases so much.

I have LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this class.....it is one of the two best online classes I've taken......the other being Blogging for Scrapbookers....which is being re-run at the moment.
I loved that class because it taught me a whole new way of blogging.......introduced me to some inspiring blogs.....plus to a group of bloggers who have become real friends.
I loved the She Art class because it has inspired me to start on a whole new creative path......I know I will still scrapbook and card make......but I will also carry on developing these new mixed media skills
Christy is an inspirational teacher.........and there was so much content in this class.....so much detailed content........her enthusiasm constantly shone through and was catching.....her slight 'unprofessionalism' was wonderful and endearing [and that is meant as a big compliment].
The numerous videos contained so much in the way of techniques.....and I haven't even managed to watch them all yet!!!!
I loved that it was all sent out weekly.......rather than daily.......giving you time to really ingest it before moving on........I loved [still love] the Flickr group.......where it is so easy to see everyone else's work and comment on it.....and be inspired by it.
In fact the only criticism I would make of Shimelle's classes is the lack of a group gallery.

I used some old music paper to back this one....and then it was sprayed with Dylusions inks....the bright sun today [which I'm not complaining about!!] has made it impossible to photograph the wonderful colours of these inks........I used some of my new stamps.......and a variety of rub-ons.......as well as some punched music notes.
I can't recommend this class highly enough for anyone wanting to start on the mixed media path.......especially if you love paper dolls!!!! Though for the more experienced mixed media artist.......it is probably not advanced enough.
And great news.......apart from the fact that Christy is re-running this class.......she has a new one starting in May called 'She had 3 Hearts'.........you can find out all about it here.......and it's open for a discounted registration right now!!!!

What a great review - I've really been on the fence about this one. I don't know much about drawing/constructing people so I thought it would be good. What do you think? Maybe I'll check out the next one.

So you enjoyed it then?!!! What glowing reviews for both classes & yes I agree that Shimelle needs to consider a group gallery for her classes! This canvas is lovely...I'm not a 'doll' person but I love how all of these canvases have turned out...another great string to your bow!!

Oh, I do love that background. SO pretty. I would love to start art-journalling, but never seem to have the time. I have got an art-journal and some gesso but that is as far as it goes.

I have loved your art work created for this class. That alone is a great recommendation for the class. I am interested in exploring mixed media some day, but am buried under with too many classes and unfinished projects to even look at something else! :-)

It is so inspiring to read your review today Jacky, I love it when classes just make you want to sing! :-) But, I would not inflict that upon any poor souls out there ;-)

Your enthusiasm for this wonderful sounding class is so inspiring! I love how it has set you off on a new creative path - as soon as I saw the details of the new class I thought of you. And I hope you enjoy it every bit as much :)

Oh my - these are fabulous - you really ARE in the canvas zone aren't you? What are you doing with them once they're finished? Do you have a little art gallery wall somewhere in the house?

Happy Friday

Jacky, it's wonderful! You've really sold this class to me - if only I wasn't saving so hard for our trip to LA right now! Ack!

I couldn't agree with you more about the She Art class Jacky, it is hands down my favourite class. I will be signing up for her second class, will you be?
