Then I found this in the shed........looking very sad and bare......and decided it needed transforming.
I bought a pack of 8 red and green check fat quarters for £1 at a boot sale in the summer........just perfect for some pairs of hearts........I bondawebed a small calico heart in the centre of one.......and added a button and some baker's twine.
They were then sewn.....and a little stuffing added.....I wanted a sort of 'shabby chic' country style.
I twisted a little raffia round the wreath........and then attached the hearts with mini wooden pegs......voila.....finished.......and what I really like is.......it's not just for Christmas.....but could be left up all year.

That is gorgeous, love the style and the colours and the way you've reused things and the whole simplicity of it.
Wow what a lovely idea and certainly cheers that little wreath up no end. Just goes to show no matter what we buy we will use it at some stage, just need to convince or other halves lol.

Jacky, this is wonderful! I love the colors and the way you embellished the hearts. My machine went up in a large (very smelly) puff of smoke last year. Fortunately the repairman was able to fix it. I'm still not sure exactly what burned up.

great work Jacky! Now I'm curious...did you replace the sewing machine? Or are the hearts hand-stitched. I tried to look close on the photos and just have to say if that is hand-stitching, then you should be a quilter!
I love the gorgeous Country Living feel you've given this Jacky. Beautifully done. Don't like the sound of that sewing machine related near miss though!
