Veering away from Traditional Colours

I love traditional xmas colours......which I suppose are red and green.....but I do like to see xmas cards made in other colours as well.......I think mauve and blue are pretty wintery colours....even though not particularly xmassy.
All the papers for this card were from a magazine freebie......with the addition of some felt ribbon......and purple gems and card candy.
The sketch is Friday Sketchers......the Saturday Challenge and Spoonful of Sugar both want 'anything'.......Copic Creations want 'shading.
In the last 2 days I've learned
1. That despite making fun of my cardmaking + scrapbooking.......DS is quite put out that I bought him and S a baby photo album......"but you haven't made it yourself" he said [that, of course, can be remedied!].
2. That our local Food and Wine Festival......held each year on the beach......really is worth visiting.
3. That even though I'm not really a wine drinker.......Carr Taylor dessert wines are delicious.......and a bargain at 3 for £15......and all grown and bottled locally.
4. That 'testing' a lot of wines and ciders at the Festival.....makes you tired for the rest of the day!!
5. That other people's chips always smell delicious.
6. That friends always phone you........just after you've started driving [and I don't have a hands free kit].
7. That even this many years after having my children........I still feel quite envious of S.......who 2 weeks after giving birth.......is back to the weight and size she was before becoming pregnant.......without doing any exercise at all!!!!!

I had a friend like that, it's so unfair!
Love the colours you used for the card.

Love these colors. Just saw a holiday paper pack in these shades recently (maybe Bo Bunny?) and thought it worked really well. And love that stamp!

FAB card and such a pretty colour combo Jacky.

I know exactly what you mean about being tired all day after drinking lunch times!!! AND the bit about people phoning when you're driving - I DO have a hands free kit but keep forgetting to dock the blooming phone so it just goes to A/Mc!!!

Love the card colours, as for phone calls, my car has it's own phone on board, and although I can divert my mobile to that number I usually forget and only 3 people have the number of the car phone, so I miss the calls LOL!

Love the color combo on this card as a "winter" feel rather than "Christmas feel.

And #7 - I feel your pain!

That is one of my fav new LOTV stamps Jacky and I think she looks cracking in those colours. The whole card is gorgeous.

Totally with you on the envy front with no.7 after two and a half years I'm still struggling!

Possibly the amount of wine I've needed to survive though - lol.

Have a great evening Hugs Cherry XXX

Beautiful colors on your card, Jacky, and I love your list. My family members think I'm mad at them if I give them a store bought card, so I had to chuckle about your son's comment on the store-bought baby album. :o) Will look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Your cards are always layered up so beautifully, and I think the colours here are beautiful. Christmas doesn't have to be red and green!

Wine testing is very tiring indeed. It's Arthur Guinness Day here tomorrow, so you know what that means..

Love the pretty stamp and that colour combination here Jacky. And thank you for your lovely comment on my new look yesterday. Much appreciated.

I wouldn't dare try wine tasting as I gave up drinking 23 years ago when I was pregnant with DS.
As for S, good for her - I could never do it and still feel like I'm losing my "baby" weight and my youngest will be 14 next week ;o)

I'm with Rhona...I'm still carrying 'baby' weight from DS1 who was 14 in August!!

That food fetival looks great & LOL at a mental picture of you staggering along the beach hiccuping!! I'm not a drinker but that dessert wine sounds worth a try!!

Love the card; mine this year will be blue and white. Can't relate at all to S's weight. I have never looked the same, and it took months before I looked "normal" again after both pregnancies.

How lovely that your son was "disappointed" with a purchased album. I take that as a great compliment to your work.
