A Tim Holtz Fathers Day Card

I bought Lord Tim's inspiring 'Compendium of Curiosities' book........full of techniques for using his products.....I even own some of his products......now to actually conquer using them!!!!
Studio L3 has started a series of challenges for techniques shown in the book.....so no better opportunity to have a try.
The first challenge is the 'water stamping' technique.......and as I have a Tim car stamp.......seemed I'd try making a Father's Day card.......asked for by DD2....not sure this is exactly what she had in mind......but she knows where the shops are!!!!
The card was stamped with pine needles, crushed olive, shabby shutters, stormy sky, faded jeans and broken china distress inks.......the first car inked with embossing ink and spritzed with water before stamping and heating.....you then get the bleached out effect on the right......need a bit of practise with this!!!!
The second car, birds and quote were stamped on with various distress inks.......I would have liked to stamp on the sentiment........but didn't have a suitable one.....so had to computer generate it.
Being Father's Day [in the UK] this Sunday.......there's a lot of challenges want this type of card.....Magical Crafts.......Incy Wincy.......Cards for Men......Crafty Cardmakers.......Cupcake Crafts........Creative Craft Challenges......Pear Tree Designs
Edited....DD2 was very pleased with the card.

Love your card and the take on this challenge. You used the exact stamps I attempted and then just gave up on! I could not get the truck to work and was going to use it for Father's Day also for my hubby!!!! Fantastic job!

I've just bought some alcohol inks from the "great man" to try and need all the inspiration I can get, any tips please forward my way. I'm gonna check out Studio L3 too. I guess distress ink will follow if I keep seeing such beautiful cards such as this!! Good luck at Crafty cardmakers
