A Complete Set!!

Today's thought at Creative Boot Camp is about how we can become trapped in our own creative style.....so that it almost becomes a habit........and we lose some of our creativity........now I realize I have a 'style'.....particularly with cardmaking........and almost all my cards are highly layered....... I don't feel it's a habit though......I do it because I love making layers....and love the look of the end result.
BUT......I do think it's good to step out of your comfort zone......and try different things.....which I don't do often enough........so today I'm going with this idea.....rather than today's random word.
I made an altered shed [thanks Rinda] it's here........and then the house to go with it here......but we also have a summer house in our garden......it's plain wood....and filled with our kid's 'stuff' at the moment....but one day it's going to be a wonderful, peaceful retreat.....and as we live near the sea......and I love all things 'sea' related.......it's gonig to be a sort of beach hut......and here it is

And the seagulls are not on the roof because I want them there.....they just always are!!!!!
So now I have a complete set.........but sort of feel they need a garden to go into.......so watch this space!!

Today I'm also loving Suze Weinberg's wonderful take on being a tourist in Britain......and really looking forward to seeing her demo at The Craft Barn's June Extravaganza tomorrow.

Jacky,
That's awesome! It is fun to step out of your comfort zone, but I agree that it's good to find a style that's you and work in it. I'm going to try to do an abstract (rather than representational) piece today but have been too busy so far today (watching soccer mostly - lOL!)

Oh these are just super, I love them as a set. You know when people would say to me I love your style. I said "What's my style?" but have noticed it and love that we all have one. Love these!

Kudos on stepping out of your comfort zone. I have been too busy with work to do anything! :(

There is nothing wrong with having a comfort style. Most designers also create within their comfort levels. That's why we can easily recognize a favorite designer. Don't change how you design your cards in layers--I love them!

OOoh Jacky, your seaside shed is wonderful!! Loving those seagulls! I think it's great to be able to work in different styles - and not to be afraid to try new things - your houses are so different from your cardmaking style but both are equally fantastic.

What a lovely collection you are creating here. All different, but wonderful as a set. Do you have plans to display them?
