10 Things in 10 Years

What do you have now that you didn't have 10 years ago at the beginning of the decade?.........so asks Liberty Cottage.......made me think a bit...........and some of the things I'd rather not have!!!! So here.......in no particular order......is my list.
  1. A bungalow......we moved here 3 years ago.....I remember standing in the hallway [a few weeks after we moved] and delightedly telling OH "I can vacuum this whole house from 2 sockets in 10 minutes".........a definate improvement on 2 hours in a 3 storey Victorian house.

2.   A flat garden......when you live somewhere as hilly as Hastings......'flat' is a real plus........you could only view our last garden from an upstairs window........I love seeing it from the kitchen window.....even if it is in need of some tender, loving care!!

3. Broadband.......10 yrs ago we only just about had the internet........as something of a  technophobe.....I can't believe how much I love my computer........and particularly the internet........a couple of days without it and I'm getting twitchy.........do you remember how long it could take to get connected.....let alone open a page.....before broadband?
4. Grey hairs.......too many of them by far.......I tell my children they're caused mainly by them.........colouring my hair is now obligatory.
5. Wrinkles........well,maybe I did have just a very few 10 years ago.......but I certainly don't remember them!!
6. My Ford KA.......bought in 2005.....the first 'almost new' car I've ever had......it's small, nippy, easy to park in tiny spaces, cheap [relatively!!] on petrol, tax and insurance.......and it has never, ever, not started.....love it.
7. 2 dogs........we've always had one dog........never wanted 2 at once.......but when DS's puppy broke her leg......he couldn't look after her.....it was only meant to be temporary.......but 18 months later she's still here.......and definately not going anywhere.
8. Scrapbooking.........I'd never even heard of it 10 years ago.......and now can't imagine life
  without it.

9. Digital camera..........how I wish I'd had a digital camera when my children were little.......so few photos........so many occasions not documented........I'm making up for it now.....no wonder looks of horror come on their faces every time they see a camera!!
10. Pounds........and sadly not of the monetary kind......I wish...........at least a stone and a half heavier than 10 years ago......time to do something about that, I think.

So what do you have now that you didn't have 10 years ago??

Strewth yes, ten years ago we didn't have broadband either - nwo I can't imagine living without it! We have now progressed to a PC each which would have been unthinkable ten years ago. I too, have additional items similar to yours (pounds and wrinkles!), along with a digital camera - what did we ever do without those too - no posting piccies on t'internet!!!
Happy New Year everyone.

What a great list! I'll have to give that some thought.

It's good to reflect on all of the changes isn't it? Digital camers are fabulous - extra kilos are NOT! Wrinkles and grey hair need extra attention - thank goodness for my hairdresser!

Lovely house and garden Jacky and two happy dogs! What a great list to make, I would find it so hard looking back 10 years never mind trying to remember what I did yesterday. Thanks for sharing this.

Ten years ago I didn't have gray hair. Now I do. I also didn't have as many wrinkles. My wrinkles remind me of Nora Batty's stockings!

Great list! I'm with you on the gray hair thing..though you're right: on the plus side we now have scrapbooking and broadband! What would we do without them, eh?

Oh my goodness, what a lot can happen in 10 years! I love the fact that you have planted this seed of an idea to blog about in my mind, I shall give it some thought and return to blogland later. So much we take for granted that wasn't around then, and do you remember how people were worried about what might happen when 1999 turned into 2000? You would have thought the world was going to end!

This is a great idea, and I love your list. I, too, wish I had had a digital camera, or even just the interest in photography that I have now when my kids were little. I really didn't get started in photography until they had grown-up and left. In fact, both of them took photography classes before I did!
