Cookies......or maybe not??

I love baking.....but rarely do it.....I eat too much of it myself......I eat too much....full stop!!!

DD asked to make cookies......."go ahead" I said......"I want us to do it together" she said.......how could I resist.....she's 19 and rarely wants to do 'things together'.......we used a recipe I've used hundreds of times......fail safe.....or not.....DD makes wonderful cakes......think she used a 'cake mixing' technique.......the result looked like cake mix or batter or something worse.......we tried to roll cookie balls in our hands........no chance.......we managed to scrape spoonfuls onto the baking trays.......cooked what we could rescue......how did they taste.....well not like cookies......not really like cakes.....somewhere in between......... I think making cookies is not our best 'things together' activity........maybe we'll stick to the Wii in future......a lot less messy!!!

So I decided to make a commemorative card!!!!! I think Tilda's attempts look a lot better than ours!!!!
I followed the sketch on Just Magnolia.......coloured with copics [a bit happier with the colouring this time].........and then wondered how on earth to match the blue [usually I choose the the papers first].....but luckily found the perfect match with these SU papers.......flowers are a layering up of paper and punched flowers braded together.......PM ribbon.
And it's still raining!!!!

This is going to make one beautiful scrap page Jacky, no matter what the cookies tasted like. Love the little card you have made to commemorate the moment!

So long as they were edible, that is the main thing. The first time I made cookies with DD, I popped them in the oven, put her down to sleep and fell asleed next to her. I woke to charcoal in the oven.

Our cookies go all cake batter like that from time to time & we have no idea why. Cute card!

Me too! I always eat too much of it! I have a nearly 18yo DD and IKWYM about having fun together - it doesn't happen very often! Lovely card - love that blue colour! (Linda from Shimelle's class)

Hi Jacky,
Just want to say thanks for the response to my comment on font size. I almost didn't leave it b/c I didn't want to offend you. . . I was worried it might sound like a criticism, when what I truly hope to do is to be better able to enjoy your lovely blog!
Hugs,

Oh Jacky what a beautiful Tilda card. I love the gorgeous papers and the stunningly coloured image. Just wondering if you can help me...I have ordered the Winter magnolia kit too and when I checked my order tracking it says that it's still waiting for bank authorization. Is this the case with you?? xx

Looks like huge amounts of fun were had so who cares if the cookies didn't turn out quite the way they were planned, moments like that are priceless.
LOVE your commemorative card too - fab layers of yummy papers.

Any time spent with your children is wonderful - especially when they are older and don't always want to spend time with you! It looks like you had real fun and I absolutely love the card you made :)

Hi Jacky, agree with Pinky, think how popular you will be if you were to bring out the page in a few years time.

Card is great anyhow, nice in blue.

The two of you might not make great cookies but you certainly know how to make great memories!

I am so in awe of your card making ability, when I make card they are boring and look really home made, seriously my 8 year old could do better, but yours, I would pay for them, just gorgeous!
