A 'not so happy' birthday!!

OH had a 'big' birthday a few weeks ago......we organised a party......made a bunting banner....bought balloons.....had a cake made.....and then he was unwell......extremely unwell......the party was cancelled.....but we couldn't let the day go uncelebrated......and the cake had been made.....so a few family members joined us.....for a cup of tea and a slice of cake [which he couldn't eat!!].
I decided to make a double page layout.....because it wasn't all bad news......a week later he had recovered enough to go out and buy the large Triumph motorbike he'd always wanted.

Oh.....and the cake froze well......so he even had some of that in the end.

Nothing worse than feeling unwell on your birthday :(. I'm pretty sure the motorbike will have helped make up for that though! Great cake too. Belated Happy Birthday to him :)

Oh, pity he was sick on his actual birthday, but it sounds like he made up for it with the purchase of that bike! Really great layouts, Jacky! xo

Happy Birthday to OH. So sad to be ill on your birthday. The cake looks fantastic though!

Hoping the recovery has been sustained and helped along by the bike :). That is a truly wonderfully decorated cake. Mine are lucky if there's a few Smarties!

Glad he got to taste the cake eventually...have you been on the bike yet?

Wow! A motorbike definitely makes up for not feeling well on a birthday. I hope he is well recovered all the same and the bike brings many hours of enjoyment.

As you can probably tell I'm catching up on news today. I hope a few eggs came your way and that Sunday was a nice peaceful day

Hi Jacky...
How rubbish to be so poorly that you can't eat your cake! Your layout was a good reminder for you.
Glad to hear he's all better and that bike is something else!
Love your veggie plot too!

No fun being ill and then on his birthday too, that sucks! Still, good for him getting the present of his dreams :)

Oh dear, I am sorry that he was so unwell on his birthday. Glad he managed to get the present of his dreams though!

It's awful to be ill on any day, but on your birthday it seems quite unfair!!! That's quite a birthday gift he purchased!

Awww, sorry to hear DH was ill on his birthday. You'll have to take up biking too, or you'll never see him when the weather improves, he'll be out on his bike all the time (....or maybe that's the plan LOL!!)

Oh what a day to be ill. Not that any day is great. Glad the cake froze well and he was eventually able to have some. Something tells me the bike more than made up for being ill.
