This month the kit was 'vintage'......I don't often do vintage style on scrapbook pages.....but had a slightly vintage style 'official' photo taken at a formal dinner on our cruise.....and we are,of course, getting pretty vintage ourselves!!
I don't often do cruise photos either......they are so expensive to buy......but it's pretty rare we dress up.....so we decided to stump up and pay for a record of it.
This was a real 'out of my comfort zone' page.....but I'm really pleased with the result. All the papers were from a new Papermania range 'Madame Payraud'......the embellishments were supplied with the kit.....but I did add the butterfly washi tape and stickers, the little buttons and the title letters
The flowers that should have been made with the kit were very ornate and raised and while I did like them......I didn't think they'd squeeze into an album very well.....so I made a simpler one with offcuts of the papers.
There was also a lot of distressing of the papers which was fine when it involved ink.....but when it was suggested we screw up the postcard pieces before adding them.....I did turn a bit pale.....but it ended up being not quite as traumatic as I feared.....and does go well with the vintage feel.
I may even try some more vintage style pages!!

Lovely photo and a very pretty kit combine to make a great page. I did chuckle at you being vintage!
the papers work really well despite the youthful pair in the photo!
Yes, I think I might have had a bit of an epi at the "you might like to screw it up before you start working" too!! It turned out just GREAT though, lovely vintage take on a modern vacation pic.
Have a great weekend - not long till we're off on hubby's "vintage" birthday cruise!

Good for you for going out of your comfort zone and creating such a beautiful layout, Jacky! I giggled when I read that you and your hubby are getting vintage yourselves. Aren't we all, my dear, aren't we all... ;o)
Have a lovely weekend! xo
It's good to be pushed out of your comfort zone sometimes isn't it? A lovely page here and it suits the photo perfectly.
It's good to try new things, and surprisingly sometimes I have found I discover I didn't know I liked. Lovely pages and enjoy your crop, it's great to get together with friends.
These papers and embellishments couldn't be more perfect for that lovely photograph! I think this might be one of my favorite layouts of yours ever! Just lovely!
And don't you both just look gorgeous all dolled up Jacky. Loving your layout and you do vintage so well, you should do more. Would love to go to a class like that.
Oh wow, this is fab Jacky! You've nailed the vintage effect beautifully ... great pic of yourself and DH too!
Jacky, this is really lovely and a great pic of the two of you. Vintage is outside my comfort zone.
oh..and I really like the elements you added!
It's good to try something new and you made a good job of it. And somehow as soon as I saw that photo is said 'cruise' to me before I read your post. Isn't that weird?
Wonderful vintage design and colors.
Hugs Diane
great page Jacky and well done on getting out of your comfort zone
Oh that's a really lovely photo and you've done it a great justice.
This vintage looks works so well with that fantastic photo of y'all! Kudos for stepping out of your comfort zone!
I love that picture of you. I remember when you posted it. Your layout is great. I don't think YOU look vintage at all!
Your foray into the world of vintage has paid off handsomely - this layout is beautiful Jacky!
Oh Jacky, I love this vintage layout! It's very much my style. And that is a great photograph of you two.

Funny, I always think of you being such a master of the vintage card look, I'd never really thought about how your layouts are lovely in a totally different way. If that makes sense..
It all works so well with your beautiful photo
I like the look of the page and agree crumpling things up can take a certain amount of bravery :) Lovely photo of you two - glad you had a good time in Lisbon.
