But I really enjoyed Sarah's 'six cards on the 6th' which got me making 6 themed christmas cards each month.....with a limited set of supplies.....and inspired me to look at new, simpler ways of making cards.
So I loved Louise's post on the S J Crafts blog 'crafting cards with a common theme'....where she's using a similar idea to make sets of general cards.
So I thought I'd have a go.
I bought a Wild Rose Studios 6 x 6 christmas paper pack in the sales last week.....what really appealed to me was the pretty colours.....pink and aqua......not traditionally christmas at all......and apart from 2 designs that actually have christmas themed words or pictures....I thought it was perfect for some girly cards.
My supplies were some oddments of toning plain card......the paper pack.....some pink and white flowers.....my brad box.....and 2 packs of gems.
I used some lovely images from a LOTV A5 picture pad....with some aqua colours added.
The only other addition was this piece of zig zag felt which was sticking out of a box....and makes perfect bunting!!
I love that using one set of supplies makes it so much quicker to make the cards.....I would probably usually spend nearly as much time on one card as these 4 took.
I purposefully didn't put sentiments on them......they can be added later when I know exactly what the card is going to be used for.
I'll still make individual cards for some people....and some events.....but this is a great way of building up a supply of cards for when one is suddenly needed.
Thanks for the inspiration,Louise.

THey are adorable cards Jacky! Are the girls prints - or a stamp that you color in? And how long does a set like this take you? Now that I'm trying to make my own cards, I'm wondering about all these things...
Cheri....I'll email you.
These are a gorgeous set of cards Jacky, in such lovely colours!! So pleased Louise inspired you! Sarah (S J Crafts)
great cards and you would never guess that they were Christmas papers they work perfectly with those images
Such a pretty set of cards. You'd never know those papers were from a Christmas themed pad!
These are so cute & it's perfect that you can add a sentiment as you need!
These are adorable! I'm interested to know the answer to Cheri's question as well. I just assumed they were stamps, but from your post, I'm thinking now that they aren't.
Karen...they aren't actually stamps...though this company does make these images in stamps...they are from a pad of printed, coloured images...though I have added extra aqua colouring so that they tone in better with the papers.
Thanks, Jacky, I had no idea you could purchase something like this. They are great!
oh my Jackie, these are wonderfully cute cards and how lovely to see that my cards inspired you to make your own xx thank you too xx
It's lovely to see you breaking out the card making skills again Jacky
Oh they're fabulous. The colours are lovely and I'd never say they were Christmas papers.
