Summer of Colour 1

I want some summer projects.....and thanks to a link on Rinda's blog.....discovered Summer of Colour.
with a new set of colours to work with each week.....voted for by the participants......to create anything you want......I probably won't manage to join in every week......but the two colours chosen this week are two of my favourite colours......citron green and turquoise....so I just had to join in.
I've just got my copy of Craft Stamper magazine......and was inspired by a bookmark project in there to make some of my own.
I started by spraying and heat setting an A4 piece of card......3 or 4 times....to get the depth of colour I wanted......and then cutting up to bookmark size.
I then heat embossed with a variety of powders.......using masks and stamps.
I finally added some stamping.....with some words I thought were apt for a bookmark.
I mounted them on some turquoise card.
I love the effect of the 'black sparkle' embossing powder.
I think these may make nice little gifts for bookworms!

These are my favorite colors too. I love your bookmarks. The words were perfect. Someone would be very lucky to receive them as a gift.

What a wonderful idea! I love the depth of color and you were able to achieve and love the idea of taking one page and making several book marks. I may have to try that one too, thanks for being here and thanks for the inspiration, xoxo

Jacky! I love these. These are two of my favorite colors too, and I love what you did with the bookmarks. I've always said you are the queen of layering, and now you're layering in paint and ink instead of paper. Beautiful!
