Preparing to document Christmas

It's that time of year again......yay.....time to really get into the christmas spirit......and start documenting it.
Shimelle's 'Journal Your Christmas' class starts on Saturday and I'm really excited that she's revamping the prompts this year........I know I won't follow them all........and my album will be a bit of a combination of JYC and a December Daily.......but probably not even daily!!
I loved making mine last year.....and I know there were 2 main reasons......I got the background pages prepared in advance......and I used one collection throughout.... 'Simple Stories'......and each day it was so quick, easy and fun to complete the page.
So I wanted to go down the same route this year.
I started with an 8 x 8 cover.......covered with some random papers......and my first ever use of washi tape!
The pages are 7 x 7 kraft........with 6 x 6 papers.

But I had decided earlier this year that I wasn't going to buy any new christmas papers......at all.......which meant I didn't have a complete collection to use......so as I did have most of a MME christmas pad......I went with that......adding a few Authentique papers into the mix.

I've mainly left the pages like that for now......one or two pages have little additions.......but mostly I'll embellish as I go along.

Because the album will be bound with rings.......I can add more pages if I want.......and I haven't punched the holes yet......because they need to be in just the right place.....as I'm awaiting a delivery of 'Simple Stories' divided page protectors......so I can add in some extra photos as well......which I've never done before.
And finally I picked out some alphas and embellishments.......which may or may not get used.
So now I'm good to go.    Are you joining in?    Do you prepare in advance?

Oh, Jacky, I love the muted tones in your journal! Can't wait to see these pages filled with photos and your lovely embellishments. I know it will be a true work of art when you are done.

6x6 is such a great way to get a lot of use our of your papers. I'm not doing JYC this year, but, when I do, I definitely prepare in advance.

Lovely stater pages Jacky. I am torn between so wanting to do JYC this year and knowing I have the last two years of unfinished journals laying in a box upstairs. The sensible side of me says 'walk away from the project' but my hart says - 'you can find the time'!

it's looking good already Jacky. I don't know if I'm going to be up to completing an album this year, I'd been hoping to make a start this week and haven't touched it. We'll see

That looks like a great foundation there, with so much prepared already - I like your pack of embellies all ready to go (or not, as the case may be!). This year, I've simply spiral bound the plain pages and made a cover in advance - can't seem to think any further ahead than this!
