Frosty Festivities blog hop

Welcome to the 'Frosty Festivities' Blog Hop......the brainchild of the very talented Jennifer who is hosting a whole weekend of frosty fun over on her blog.
There's a whole host of very talented bloggers taking part in the blog hop......with loads of ideas to share with you....and there's a mega PRIZE to be won for commenting on all the blogs......and if you're following the hop you should have arrived here from Dapfnie
from our front door February 2012
I have to admit that winter is not really my favourite time of year.....which is one reason why I love christmas so much......it something to really look forward to during the cold dark days...unless,of course, you live in the southern hemisphere!!!
But there's something else I love about winter....candles......I do burn them in the summer......but it's in the winter I really love them.....on a dark afternoon.....or by the fire on a cold evening......a few of them bunched together.......especially if they have wintery, spicy scents.
I'm also a bit of a hoarder......and whenever I have anything that comes in a little glass jar I keep the jar....they are the perfect size for tea light candles.....but maybe too plain.....let's see if we can transform them a bit.
I added some snowflake wired ribbon round the jar with a few tiny pieces of double sided tape.......added a punched newspaper snowflake.......and secured it all with some twine.
Very simple.....but a bit of an improvement,I think.
And looking lovely in a group lit up in the evening.
I do hope you enjoyed my little wintery project......but it's time to move on now......and if you comment on all the blogs in the hop you'll be in with the chance to win a MEGA PRIZE.......of Basic Grey Aspen Frost and Carta Bella Winter Fun items [worth over £25!!!!].

You need to finish the hop at Jennifer's Jumbles [she has a list of all the blogs in case you get lost] and enter by Monday 19th November at 10.59 [UK time].....and now you need to pop over and visit Jemma......and see what she has in store for you.
But first......if you leave me a comment.....I'll also randomly select a commentator on Monday to win 2 cards made with Carta Bella Winter Fun.....Happy Hopping.

They are very sweet by day, but once the candle is lit they transform into something beautiful!

Oooh, these look fantastic! So pretty all lit up in a group. Thanks for the tip! I miss candles, we don't use them so much since we had children who might grab them! But it makes it a real treat when they do come out.

Thanks so much for taking part in the blog hop! x

Very cute - I prefer the smell of candles when blown out - I know, I'm weird, I sniff new magazines, pulled crackers and popped poppers :)

I love candles too. But I've kinda gotten out of the habit of having them around. You've made me miss it. I guess it's time to start up again. Thanks.

Oh that's so effective Jacky! Really pretty with the tea lights inside. Wouldn't have thought of using ribbon to decorate a little dish like that. Thanks for the idea!

Jacky, I have bags of tea lights and glass jars that I keep, I always know they will be useful one day.
I used to light candles regularly and seeing how stunning yours look lit with the ribbon decoration I am just going to have to dig them out and use them!! A lovely idea for my grand-girls to make for Christmas presents.

These are really lovely - I love candles too especially Yankee candles, I love all the Christmas scents especially the ones with vanilla and spice scents that fill the house with lovely baking smells (with none of the mess)

Those are gorgeous Jacky. It's funny, this year I'm really enjoying the fact that it gets dark early. It's a good reason to hunker down in the house with my family.
