A day in Whitstable- Scrapbook Remix 7

Scrapbook Remix is a Shimelle online class to inspire us to use our patterned papers
A couple of weeks ago OH and I had a day out to Whitstable....a small coastal town on the north Kent coast......and despite the weather we had a lovely day.
The town has more independant stores than any other English town...and it was fun wandering along the high street looking in unique shops [not a mobile phone shop in sight!]
There is still a working harbour and fishing fleet and after lunch we watched the activity down there.
We took a walk along the beach side path......the beach was empty apart from the seagulls,of course.
And admired the brightly painted wooden beach huts......until the heavier rain finally forced us back to the car.
One of Shimelle's prompts [which came with a video] was all about layering......she does a lot of layering.....but I particularly love her layering of embellishments......and enjoyed watching how she actually goes about doing it....and wanted to have a go myself......though my page doesn't have nearly as many as hers.
I'd taken quite a few photos......but only wanted to make one page......so made a collage in Picassa with my favourite ones. The layering used up lots of K & Co scraps. The embellishments are all Pink Paislee....and seemed to go well with the theme.
I shall definately do more pages like this one.

What a beautifull town, such a shame the weather had to turn. Still, you have beautiful photos and a fab page to remember it.

I love hearing about other towns, I am going to go and look it up on google maps to see exactly where it is ... I know, I'm sad aren't I? But, it's my way of travelling right now as I won't be over there any time soon!

Great layout Jacky, I like the grid and the colour scheme you chose .. and, you did well with your layering, you always do.

It looks like a lovely place for a wander - I could almost smell the sea just looking at those photos. I've said that before about some of your gorgeous seaside pages, haven't I? lol

I love a small town that doesn't have a Walmart or any of the other big box stores. They have so much character. Whitstable is just such a town I would like to spend a weekend.
