A Chistmas layout without christmas papers- Scrapbook Remix 8 + 9

One of Jennifer's challenges during her Frosty Festivities blog event was to make a christmas layout without using christmas papers.....I had some fun photos of DD2 and Little A that I wanted to scrap.....and when I set about finding some papers I came upon a little kit of 'Narrative' papers and embellishments [a TK Maxx bargain] that were perfect.....the very collection that one of Shimelle's Scrapbook Remix prompts had used.....and I hadn't even realised I'd got any - tut tut!!!
Slightly blurry photos,I'm afraid.
They are actually summer papers....but work well  with these photos,I think. The kit only had a few papers.....so I decided to make another page with what was left......this time a summer page of my friend G's birthday last year......I don't usually cover journaling on my blog......but didn't want to share it with this one.......so covered it with a piece of paper
I love how completely different the 2 pages look.....despite using only 6 papers between them.

I really like that second layout! Great job :) I can't believe you only used 6 papers to make both those layouts!

I love the border of patterned papers on the first layout! I must remember that technique! These may be summer papers, but they do work wonderfully with these photos.

Two very diverse LO's & how funny that you had those papers & hadn't realised! I have stash like that & it's such a pleasant surprise when I rediscover items!! Those photo's of your DD & little A are just too cute & a good friend is always worth celebrating! Lovely memories to document! :D

Ooh, both these layouts are very pretty! I love how the first one feels Christmassy despite no winter papers - the colours really are perfect for the photos. I like the series of pictures telling the story too.

Thanks for joining in with my Frosty Festivities Challenge! x
