Scrapbook Remix-failing at the first hurdle!!!

Shimelle's new online class 'Scrapbook Remix' started this week......aiming to help us use our patterned papers......and I have plenty of those.....particularly old ones.......sitting in boxes not earning their keep.
Her first prompt was to use a variety of patterns in shades of one colour.......I have lots of pink papers.....I don't know why.......I'm not really a pink person.......but Little A is.....she rarely wears any other colour......and I had the perfect photos waiting to be scrapped.
Out came various patterned papers......I chose one for the the background......and matted the photos on a shocking pink spotty one......and put them on the background......it looked like this.
I started sorting through the patterned papers.......which ones should I use......I glanced back at the page......and I realised that actually.......I liked it as it was and didn't want any more papers......only words and embellishments!!!!!!
So I think I may have fallen at the first hurdle.....with no inroads made into the patterned paper pile at all.......except I did use some patterned scraps to make the flowers!!!!!!

But it's a really pretty page - any more and that face wouldn't shine so nicely from the page (though that hardly seems possible - you know what I mean!)

I think I'm with you - that paper was just fab for your layout and didn't need further embellishing beyond your words, journaling and flowers - FABBYLICIOUS

lol! But you still got a layout scrapped, and a beautiful one at that :)

Things don't always work out as planned. At least you got those adorable photos scrapped and used up some scraps. I'd still give you an A.

I just saw this beautiful layout on the Scrapbook Remix forum & had to laugh at your "failure". Hang in there - we still have lots of prompts to go & you just might make some inroads into that patterned paper yet.

It is indeed perfect as it is :). The colours and patterns are perfect. (And I understand a little about the falling at the first hurdle!).

I think that page is gorgeous! How can it be a failure? If the class gets us scrapping and creating beautiful LO's like this it can only be a success!

I'm doing this class too, but haven't had time to do any scrapping! At least you managed to use some paper out of your stash and it is a lovely layout! Just catching up on my blog reading and workign back through your posts - off I go!

I just love this page, Jacky! The four photos that give you a closer and closer view of this adorable little girl are just perfect. I'll be trying to remember to try to get some photos like this while Caleb is here.
