Scrapbook Remix 4- inspired by patchwork

Scrapbook Remix is a Shimelle online class designed to inspire us to use our patterned papers
Shimelle's third prompt suggested we could take inspiration from patchwork into our scrapbooking.......I still had the papers from my last page on the table.......so decided to use the remnants of them to make this page.
I'm also trying to use this class to complete my 2012 album [getting double the value from it]......and wanted to document my garden this summer.
I thought the piece on the right looked a bit like a piece of patchworked fabric and the pieces on the left were cut up and pieced together......the centrepiece is a grid and the titles are a sort of grid as well.....a final few little squares were added.
I'm not really too sure about the finished page......I think it lacks something.....but I'm not quite sure what.....maybe it needs some embellishments.....maybe it's just too 'flat' for me....I think I wish I'd matted the photos!!!!

The patchwork is pretty - it really emphasizes the garden florals and that's lovely

Well, I think it's lovely :) I'm a big fan of combining classes with other projects, or using them to complete my scrapping to-do list!

The patchwork is very pretty. You've got room for some dimensional flowers if you wanted to make it less flat. I find that's a problem sometimes when I'm focussing on using paper, I forget to use anything else

I love the effect you have on this page. I know what you mean about flat layouts - I have to have lots of bulk on mine but saying that I think that this one stands up beautifully as it is.

Your patchwork is so pretty and goes perfectly with those photos. I've been thinking patchwork this evening too, but the fabric kind!

I think it came together nicely, but I often end up going back and matting photos if I didn't do it originally.

oh you have done a wonderful job on the patchwork prompt! I hope to get to some more crafting soon (I forgot I wouldn't be able to tonight because of the trick or treaters!!)
