Scrapbook Remix 3 - using the B sides

Scrapbook Remix is a Shimelle online class designed to inspire us to use patterns together
Shimelle suggested that double sided papers have an A side [brighter and more 'in your face'] and a B side [more peaceful and muted].
She suggested making a page using B sides.
I usually like B sides and use them a lot........with a smaller amount of the A side.....I tend to prefer subtle to too much 'in your face'.....unless it's Graphic 45 and then I always want to use both sides....grrrr.
I picked up these papers at Ally Pally this year.......because I liked the colours.......but then was a bit lost about what to do with them......so this was a good opportunity to try to use them.
Though.....the truth is.....there is a little bit of A side in there.......but the main piece and the 2 on the left are B sides.......added just a little bit of stamping to it as well.
This page documents the trials and tribulations of trying to take a photo of all 8 kids for their grandmother/great-grandmother......of the 12 photos taken.......these were the best 2.

Excellent job! Your photos turned out great despite the challenge. Lovely layout!

They are lovely photos!

I'm a B side user a lot of the time - all those ledger and graph papers I love are usually on the reverse

Yes, it can be really tricky to get a good group shot - these came out well though :) As did the layout! Like you, I tend to use mainly b-sides with maybe small doses of a-sides.

I can see why that would be tricky (trying to get everyone looking in the right direction at the same time!) but you did admirably and your layout is fabulous - lovely papers

That is a great layout! I, too, find the B side is sometime better than the A side.

I think the photos are great - very natural, and I love the colours you've used here

Nice layout. I don't bother with which side is A or B. I just finished a layout with a messy stack, but alas I only used one piece of patterned paper (the rest was cardstock!).

I'm doing some blog catch up today - you're going great guns on this class! I think my favorite so far is the first layout (the pink one). I know it didn't use lots of patterned papers, but the embellies really made it seem like there was plenty of visual interest. Thanks for sharing what's going on in the class.

I've never heard what the distinction is between A and B sides of the paper. Now that I know, it's not surprising to me that I frequently choose the B side of the paper to scrap. Great family photos!

These papers are perfect for your photos - a great foil and not overwhelming. Like your camera stamp - so appropriate for this page :).

It is difficult getting everyone to look in the right direction, but these look natural and good to use. I didn't know the difference of size A & B either, I thought they just complimented each other.
