Street Party Album [part 2]

The second half of my Street Party album......part 1 is here.......I wanted this album to be quick to make......no agonising over what to use.....the memory was the main thing.....so I pulled out all my 'patriotic' type papers......and a variety of red, white and blue embellishments.....and made it over 3 evenings.
There was a great deal of eating and drinking involved!!
The children all wore red, white and blue.......and had their faces painted.
They were all given flags and party blowers.....and had a parade.
A group photo......all the children were given a copy of a group photo as a permanent memento of the day.
One of the best things about the day was how much fun the children had.....no tears or tantrums.....and not an electronic device in sight.....though someone did have the ingenious idea of putting a snooker table in their front garden for the older kids!!

Early evening the hot food arrived....and 2 BBQs were fired up.......yet more eating!!
And despite the mountain of food.......this was all that was left by 8pm
We managed to get eveything finished and tidied away just before the rain started.......and everybody agreed that a street party should be an annual event.

I love the entire album, Jacky. You amongst a few others are inspiring me to scrap events right after they happen!

Even though you took a "done is better than perfect" approach to these pages, they are really nice and have great touches. I think "tea time" is my favorite.
What a great way to capture the memory.

Great way to preserve all those memories. I am such a slow scrapper wish I could work a bit quicker though using sketches does help!

Re: your comment on the Bell Inn on my blog .... a possible venue for your next visit to your rellies in Stroud as it's probably less than ten miles from them.

The street party looks amazing, I'm quite jealous! I love the the activities that were going on, and I like your page with the doilies on showing the kids colouring in. I hope you do manage to throw a party each year, wouldn't that be fantastic!

Thanks so much for joining in my Scrapbooking Soiree, it was fantastic to see your album! x
