Occasionally she played with 'real world' toys like dolls.....and prams.....and tea sets.....and baking sets......and brooms......and even an iron.
Her mother didn't take many photos back then.......her mother should have taken more notice.....and more photos.....because the little girl grew up......and her mantra became 'I understand the concepts of cooking and cleaning and ironing, just not how they apply to me'......and never again did she ever touch one of these type of 'toys'.
So these two photos became the only evidence that she ever had touched such things.....and can bring a smile to the face of anyone who knows her.

Well stranger things have happened ... my sister is married to a man who does ALL OF THE COOKING ... and happily at that! Sheesh, none of that goes on around here!
lol, that sounds like my daughter, but not me of course!!
She will learn, my daughter never could cook and didn't want to really, meals that go ping were all sufficient but now she will happily plan a whole months meals never once repeating them during that month.
Princess learned to iron from next door's cleaner when she was also learning to sew (I don't do ironing so we don't own one). The cleaner was appalled...
Oh my goodness, I think she is the long lost sister of my daughter! LOL Krissy found a young man who is an amazing cook and fairly methodical about tidiness, thank goodness! LOL
What a lovely story! It made me look back with a smile to my own attempts at pretend ironing; and - I've just thought - does this mean Little E won't be King of the Hoovers when he grows up after all?

I loathe chores. When I was on maternity leave I loved being a homemaker, but now I work and they absolutely are chores!!
Ironing should be avoided at all costs. What a good job you got it out of your system while you were still young ;-)
I can so identify! I didn't even play at housework as a child...I like a clean house & neat clothes, but laothe & detest ironing...housework is definitely evil & should be delegated wherever possible! ;D

I was never much for ironing until I started patchwork, then it became a necessity! My daughter didn't have a toy iron, so maybe there is hope for her.

There are those men who do those things, there's one in this house and I am bringing up my boys to do the same...well so far, they only cook but I am working on it.
I bet you are so glad you took all those photos and they are always such great shots. This page is just beautiful Jacky.

too funny! I've managed to cut ironing out of my life by simply refusing to buy clothes that require dry cleaning or ironing! Linen & wool, who needs it???
Clever way to tell the story. The photographs are priceless and make for a lovely layout. Such a pretty dress. Think one of my daughters had one like it. Same daughter married a man who does everything, including the ironing!

What a lovely tale! I hate ironing-
and I think the only time my boys handled stuff like that was when they were toys!
LOL ... good luck with that! Although I will say that my husband is very good. He does his own ironing but I told him from day one that I didn't iron - EVER! And he currently does most of the cooking, but I did have to teach him as his mother never let him set foot in the kitchen. He now loves to cook and we seem to alternate who is cooking depending on the current work schedules. A great story to put to paper.
Love the embellishments on this page - I'm hoping my kids have picked up these skills by osmosis, as they are awful at doing chores.
