This was a long held ambition........yes,it was expensive.......yes, it was mega crowded........and my feet are still aching......but it was totally amazing......and totally inspiring.
A week ago G and I were worried we'd get soaked and freeze......instead we were more likely to have suffered heat exhaustion as the temperature soared.
The show gardens were stunning.
Cottage garden and wild planting seemed to be the theme.
rustic themes
water conservation
And,of course, a few quirky ones as well!!
something for the Jubilee
Not to mention Diarmuid's garden in the sky.
The marquee was hot and airless.....but had some stunning stands and plant ideas.
a little something for OH who is a big motor racing fan
A packet of those red poppy seeds was the only thing that I bought........but what did I really, really want
This would just be perfect in my garden!!

Just looks like a glorious day out though truly a little hot for me I think! FAB photos Jacky
Happy Sunday

Jacky, I think I enjoyed your wonderful photos much more than the tv coverage I watched last night! You have picked out so many lovely details. I'm a big fan of cottage gardens!
Fab pics Jacky...I too have always wanted to visit Chelsea.

Lucky you Jacky, I went to Chelsea some years back and loved it. You have some wonderful photos, there are some amazing styles. I loved Diarmuid's, thought that's not my style. I'm more of a cottage garden person where I can get lost in foilage and hear the buzz of bees (so long as they don't sting me!)
Such beautiful flowers. I missed the Philadelphia Flower Show this year so your floral photos helped me get a "flower fix." Thanks.
Fantastic photos. Love the mini and F1 car :0)
What fantastic photos, it looks like you had a great time but I can just imagine how hot you must have been! xx
Oh that looks like a great day out!
Lovely photos! It looks like it was a beautiful day. How fun to have accomplished a long held ambition.
Wonderful Jacky! This looks so much better than the overly commercialized convention center flower show I went to!
What a great experience for you Jacky! The Chelsea Flower Show is well reported upon down here.
Love that mini! I'm a fan of wild planting and cottage style gardens too. An old friend of mine who is a bit of a 'celebrity' gardener was bemoaning the fact that edible plants weren't much in evidence this year.
Your photos are wonderful, thanks for the tour.

Oh that looks wonderful. Glad you had such a great day. It is one of the things I keep promising myself for 'one day' as well.
Wow amazing photos Jacky, thanks for sharing them. I would love to go there some time.
I love the garden in the sky. And good for you for doing something that you've always wanted to do. I think it's important to have these once in a life time experiences (even if it's expensive).

I've been watching it on tv, but it's better to see the gardens through the lens of someone who has been there!
Sounds like you had a fab time and weren't you lucky with the weather. I like the look of those poppies too!
The Chosen One would have been in heaven, so happy you got to do something on your big list, if looks glorious!
Wow, what beautiful photos! It looks to me like it was definitely worth the expense. Glad you were able to cross something off the "Want To Do" list.
It looks beautiful. Mum has always wanted to go and see it but was worried about there being too many people to see anything. Judging by your pictures though you got a great look around. A lovely day to visit on too.
I love seeing these photos! I would also love to go one year. It looks like you had a lovely day xxx
