Going down the yellow route

I never wear yellow......I rarely use yellow when crafting......it definately isn't one of my chosen colours......but during what has now become a bleak midwinter......seeing Julie's yellow 'month of sunrays' posts over at notes on paper is really cheering.
She's focusing on yellow this month.....and challenging us to blog a few of our own sunrays.
And just by coincidence Kirsty has challenged us students at 'Just One Sketch' to use a colour we don't usually use.....well,that would be yellow then!!!!!!
Though I did have to actually find some first.
Some very old photos of DS with his grandad.......we don't have many.......I really wanted to scrap some........and the story is......well the story is that there is no story......the photos were taken in Brighton......I know that because I'd written it on the back of the photos......but sadly I don't remember this outing at all.....which just shows why you should always write the story as soon as possible.
As for yellow......there may be some more......I'm creating something else that includes yellow.......but it's not made with paper.....and it may take some time......and I've remembered there is something yellow that I love.......sunflowers......I grow them every year.....my favourite flowers of all.
Do you love yellow? why not pop over to Julie's blog and be inspired.

I may use yellow for my LO for this prompt too...you are so right about writing things down as they happen- my mum has so many pics which we know nothing about!

I am beginning to warm to the colour yellow, especially on layouts. Maybe I'm craving sunshine!
Lovely photos and I am sure one day you will have a sudden flash of memory and remember something about that day. Moral to the story is - make a layout as soon as possible after a photo is taken!

Wish I had written on my photos as I have a head like a sieve and having no living parents now can't get info anymore:( I love your layout, the yellow is really quite nice, I struggle with yellow on cards.

I like bright yellow okay but don't love it, there are so may other colors that make me happy. You met the challenge well.

I love the concept of yellow, it's a pretty colour, but, like you, I never use it or wear it!

A great page Jacky, and it's never too late to make a page about an outing like this sort!

This really is a versatile sketch and yellow works just great with your chosen photos too - would never be my 1st choice either!

Happy Monday

Great layout and that yellow really sings, Jacky. I do quite like yellow, not to wear, but I like yellow paint. It is sad when memories escape, you are right we need to note down the details at the time. Wise words. Hugs Cherry xxxx

I never thought I would use yellow on a layout but have used it on two lately. Lovely layout.

Lovely to see yellow around at the moment Jacky when it has been so dark and grey outside...I don't use it very much in my crafting either but always love it in friends' projects..your photographs look so warm and happy...
Ooh, it's so cold here today..keep warm and cosy!

Great page and well done for going out of your comfort colour zone. I'm with you on yellow and at college never went near it. I could never find anything to go with it!
You have done a fab job here and maybe you'll be tempted to use more

I don't love yellow, but I do find myself attracted to it as a "pop" color. I also look pretty good in a soft yellow so wear that now and again.

Love your LO, I don't tend to use yellow much either! I constantly forget things at the moment, so writing things on my blog is the way I remember things!

What a nice coincidence with your sketch class.

I think your LO shows that yellow works completely differently when combined with soft natural shades, rather than bright colours.

Thanks for getting sunny with me - I've pinned your post to the Pinterest board now: http://pinterest.com/notesonpaper/a-month-of-sunrays/
