10 on the 10th.....a little bit of sunshine

This is my post for Shimelle's 10 on the 10th.
I'm joining in with Julie's 'A month of sunrays'.....trying to brighten up the winter with a spot of yellow.....and though I would say I'm not keen on yellow.......never wear it......rarely craft with it......there is something yellow I love......sunflowers.....not only do I grow them in summer......but have quite a collection of them out in my [at present, freezing cold] conservatory.
I've quite a few of these tin cans.....mainly given as presents.
A tin watering can.......and some fabric flowers.
A set of sunflower fairy lights are draped round the pine dresser....and look lovely lit up in the evening.
A little wooden chest of drawers.....I added the sunflower cut outs to these.
An old tin sunflower sign......a birthday present from DD2.
A very pretty frame.......I'm not sure whether to put anything at all in it.
 A jug
 A set of sunflower plates.
A painted terracotta vase.....picked up for a few pence at a boot sale......I put sunflowers in it every summer.
And finally.......not a sunflower at all.....but this morning my little pot of daffs on the dining room windowsill burst into flower.....a bit of yellow sunshine.

What a clever way of combining your collection with Shimelle's '10on the 10th' and my series!

How funny that you don't like yellow but love all your sunflower pieces. Flowers can get away with any colour combination can't they? ;-)

Thanks so much for joining in, I pinned oyur post here: http://pinterest.com/notesonpaper/a-month-of-sunrays/

Julie :-)

Get yourself to your nearest branch of Ikea!! They're selling off their silk sunflowers at only £1.50 per stem...Bargain!! I love them too & must think about getting my seeds into some trays for a headstart on summer!! Hard to think about in sub zero temps & with the snow outside!! How lovely to see your daffs bursting into bloom too!!

Hi Jacky...
Phew ...Just caught up on a page of posts...didn't realise it had been a that long since I had visited you...
You went from sunflowers...to Snow in the garden to Tea in the garden, lots of yellows then onto blues with Tilda and LOTV...Sewing rainbow placemats and then black and white motorbikes...love your remembering of your brother page...You have been busy! All projects were lovely and as always very interesting reading! Be back again soon....x

What a clever idea! We have no snow here, but it is dark and depressingly foggy and a few sunflowers have brightened up my afternoon immensely!

I love sunflowers, but I put my collection away for the winter, and display it in the summer. Now I'm thinking that just might be backwards! It's snowing here. I was happy to spend some time with your bright sunny post!

Thanks for sharing your sunflowers. I am just getting back to commenting on all the posts as I had my grandchildren overnight last evening and it is supper time here and they have just headed home.

I love those daffodils on your dining room windowsill!

What a fun bunch of photos, Jacky. I'm a fellow sunflower-lover too! I should find out when is the best time to plant seeds here as I'd love to have some growing in my yard!
