Just One Sketch

I've joined Miss Smith's 'Just One Sketch' class.......I love working with sketches, the class only cost £5 and all the proceeds go to the Girl Guide Association......so how could I turn that down.
Kirsty began by encouraging us to pick some of our favourite pages and look at what design elements the layouts have in common.......what do we love about them......and then design a sketch based on those elements.

Looking back at some of my favourite layouts of the past year.......I noticed how many of them have a line of 3 or 4 photos across [or down] the page.....layered onto patterned papers......often with a group of embellishments at one edge of the photos......so the sketch I came up with for this class is based on these elements.......and looks something like this!!!!
And let me tell you......it took longer to get the sketch on here than to design it........Word 2010 point blank refused to save it as an image......though it looks pretty much like an image to me......it wouldn't save it into Paint.....it wouldn't even convert to an JPEG when saved as a web page.....so if anyone knows how to convert in Word 2010......please do tell!!!!!
Hopefully.....when my torn out hair has re-grown......a layout based on the sketch will soon appear on here.

Jacky,
This is brilliant. I like a sketch which uses a good number of full sized photos, since that's the way I scrap.
Looking forward to what you do with the class.

Love your sketch and the layouts you chose are just gorgeous. When I get a programme like that I tend to just hit the print screen button when open it in paint and viola you have your picture;0

This looks like a really versatile design Jacky. I'm a fan of using one sketch in a variety of ways.

This should work really well - looks as if there's lots of room for variety here too. See you in class!

Sorry to hear the blooming sketch gave you such aggro but a splendid array of layouts you created from it.

If you use MS Powerpoint to create your next sketch then you can save as .jpeg and should be dead easy to insert in to your blog - just a thought

You do make me chuckle Jacky - I hate it too when my laptop doesn't 'play nice' lol You must have enjoyed looking back on these fab layouts....did I ever tell you I completed that K&Co Scapbook you gave me? It was so much fun (& I will treasure it because I used photo's of the kids) but no where near as amazing as any of the pages you do :)

Great sketch Jacky. I like the way you use 3 photos on a page. I rarely use more than one. I think I'm afraid I might run out, if I use too many at once!

That looks like a really useful sketch Jacky. I'm so not a sketch person that I think I'm going to have to borrow one from a sketch site and see how it goes!

That's a lovely sketch Jacky. Worth every minute of the stress and strain of getting it to publish! Looking forward to seeing more from it. I love pages that have more than one photo on - so useful for groups of pictures of children and it looks like you have a fantastic model there!

I love the layouts you have shown us and glad you managed to get the sketch on here eventually!

LOL at word not playing ball - been having trouble with it myself today!

I do quite a few pages like yours - it's a good way to include several photos that tell a story (or swap out photos for PP/journalling blocks). I missed the class start as the feed still isn't working for me, so I'm still at the sketch designing stage - think it will be a sketc too, not a word thingy!

A stunning bunch of LO's & a really cool sketch you've come up with! I may just have to store that away in my 'Inspiration' file for future reference (with your permission of course!!)...that is if I can actually save the image!! Isn't it frustrating when that happens?!! :)
