Christy's instructions were to choose colours you don't usually work with......and for me....that is probably orange and yellow.....I never wear those colours either....though I do love sunflowers.
I glued on an assortment of yellow and orange papers....and then toned them all down with sand and cream acrylic paints....before adding some stamping.
Christy had made her flowers from Sculpey clay......but I used fabric.
The final touch was some buttons.......and a couple of shrink plastic butterflies.

Jacky,
That's beautiful!!!
And I'm smiling ear-to-ear thinking about how much your art has evolved! Yet at the same time it is still so beautifully and perfectly you!
Love it,
Rinda
I'm always quite scared of doing something like this but admire people who do, it's beautiful
Wow Jacky that is quite beautiful.
I'm another one who enjoys watching how Christy's classes push you creatively.
I took a colour class from her a couple of years ago; and I kind of reckoned this one would be a bit of a rerun. I think I was wrong! It sounds fascinating
Absolutely gorgeous work Jacky...I love your fabric flowers & I LOVE these colours...so warm & sunny!
I'm amazed at how quickly you got that done Jacky! I watched all the videos and just HAD TO HAVE that issue of Somerset Life. So just returned from a quick shopping trip where I got the magazine and some paint to do the same color scheme Christy used for Day 1.
P.S. I like your fabric flowers way better than Christy's sculpey ones! Great job!
I love the colours you have used and the flowers are great :)
Oohh how I do love this
I always find yellow and orange tricky too Jacky, and yet I love them visually! I love what you have done, the tone of the colour is just lovely and, as a whole it is a beautiful project.
Love this Jacky...your flowers are fab!

Wow, this is fantastic, love the flowers.
Love your fabric flowers - they are so soft and natural looking! I have enrolled but not had a minute to look at the videos yet - arrgh!
Orange is my favorite color, I don't use it much but I love the feeling of that color. Your fabric flowers are wonderful. Maybe you could do a tutorial on how to make them one of these days?
Agghh I haven't even started watching the videos I'm afraid at how behind I am! Well Christy looks like she has created another great class based on your beautiful canvas!!
