The girls decided on a spot of rock climbing.......not to mention.......a bit of posing!!!!
But they didn't find it quite so easy coming back down.......not exactly the correct foot wear.
A goat wandered across the road....oblivious to the traffic......to investigate what was going on.
And it was in Cheddar......by the river......that we came across my favourite shop......full of quirky, vintagy, folk artsy treasures......one or two of which managed to come home with us!!
We were staying near Burnham.......which the tourist guide made sound like a quaint little village......but was more of a typical seaside tourist resort......but G and I did spend a very enjoyable afternoon there......meeting up with my lovely blogging and Craft Bubble friend KathyK.......who popped down from Bristol for coffee, cake and a chat......and to get blown away by the gale force winds by the beach!!!
So lovely to get together with you again,Kathy.......lets hope for better weather next time.

The scenery is just beautiful at your Cheddar Gorge. We have a similar area in Pennsylvania called (of course!) the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. We started at the top and climbed our way down. I thought we would never get to the bottom and, then again, get back to the top! Mother Nature is wonderful, isn't she?
Lovely pix Jacky (except the Titanic pose from me!) and great to see you enjoyed Cheddar Gorge - worth the trip for the shops and goat alone!!!
Good to have you back although it was lovely to meet you in person during your absence from blogland!
Happy Monday
Kathyk
Hoooray for meeting blog friends in real life!
And what interesting pictures - that goat is something else!

Looks like you had a marvelous time, Jacky... and isn't it funny how treasures just seem to sprout legs and jump into your car? I'm getting so jealous of everyone's travels and meet-ups this summer!
Oh my goodness, first bath and bristol and now Cheddar, that is like 15 minutes in the car from my house and I go my crop near Burnham. so sad to have missed the chance to meet you but so glad you enjoyed ur trip, perhaps u'll come back for further visits!!

What beautiful photos Scrappy. That was great meeting up with Kathy :) Hugs xxx
The Gorge looks pretty imposing to me :) Love that the goat came to see you. And finding friends and worthy shops along the way is always a good thing!
We were thinking of paying a visit there on our way home - think we may have to squeeze it in. Have great memories of it from when I used to go as a child :0)
Oh those photos bring back happy memories of family holidays - we visited Cheddar and I can remember being amazed by the scale of it - goodness knows how I'd feel if ever we made it to the Grand Canyon!
Great photos! Must admit when I was much younger I used to think that there would be caves made of cheese down there!
Pleased to hear that you managed to bring home a few new nice bits and pieces.
I have to say I think it's pretty impressive :). You've got some great shots, and how lovely to meet up with a blogging friend
Wow - such beautiful scenery and so fun to see the similarities and differences between the Gorge and our own Grand Canyon. I've been to the GC a few times, and it is pretty awesome, but it's really a great big hole in the ground - no beautiful mountains rising up like your version.
Glad to see you got to meet up with a blogging friend. Looks like you girls were having a bit of fun! :o)
Beautiful photos of beautiful scenery but that goat is something else!
It all looks excellent Jacky! I was giggling at your description of the girls, my sisters used to always head out on adventures with inappropriate shoes on ... still, they made their way and that's the main thing!
Great pics Jackie. Love the one of you and Kathy.I can almost hear Celine Dion crooning in the background. LOL
Lovely post, Jacky. How lovely to meet up with a blog friend. I;ve not been top Cheddar Gorge for years, your photos make me want to revisit.
Now that's somewhere I've never been - looks every bit as beautiful as Norway though!
It's always good to see blog friends meeting up and smiling together
what a beautiful area (and photos)! Thank you for sharing them! I am going to try and find you on pinterest this morning! ;) Have a great day!
I love Cheddar Gorge...did you go into the caves? Is the sweet factory still there? How great to meet up with Kathy & LOL at the superman pose in your windy photo...sounds like a good trip all round!!
I love your piccies jacky, looked like a lovely place to be. It's nice that you met up with a blogging buddy.
Happy crafting
Tracy x
