One Year Ago......

I blogged a layout about the close relationship of my son and his late grandmother.....you can read more about it here
So I thought today I'd blog another layout of him.........a very simple 'baby' page.....it's the first page in the album I'm making for him.......I haven't been making the pages chronologically.......though they are going in the album chronologically..........and if I was making this page today.......I'd do it differently.....and I'd definately cut and stick everything straight!!!!! But I don't believe in changing older pages.......even when I'm not so keen on them now.......they're all part of  my 'scrapping' development.
Do you agree....or do you go back and 'update' pages?
You may notice he hardly fitted in the plastic 'cot' they used to put babies in!!

So you may like to look more closely at the weight and length written on his birth card.......and, yes, they are accurate!!!

wow he was a size 'ouch'!

i really don't like looking at all of my earlier work but I have never reworked a page, i have reused photos with a completely different layout and style so i supposed that could count!

Wow - he was a big boy!

I never rework old layouts - I don't have nearly enough time to scrap as it is, I'm not going to spend it on layouts that are already done when there is so much more to do!

Wow Jackyn - what a whopper!

How fun to look back at his birth, given that he's now a father (right? isn't this A's dad?). LIfe goes so fast!
I never redo layouts. Ever.

Oh my goodness! Very long baby! I've never re-done a layout but I've thought about it a couple of times :)

OMG 12lb6oz, he's enormous lol but cute as can be. Love your layout jacky.

No, I never go back and change a page. Once it's done--it's done.

I agree, that is one long baby! Did he grow up to be taller than 5 foot 10 inches?

I agree with others, once a page is done, it's done!!! Great post to compare then and now!

OMG Jacky he was a big baby. Lovely LO and I am sure your son will love the finished book. Are you making it for a present? I have never reworked a LO but like Rachel have thought about it.

I've never even considered redoing an older layout. The very first one I ever did was in a class, and I took it out of the album because it was so clearly not "mine." I may rescrap those photos, but it won't be a redo. Yours is lovely, and he was a big baby!

Now that's just made my eyes water.

I don't go back and re-do old pages, can't bear to somehow even though there are some I cringe when I look at.

Oh that is a cute baby LO, I never would have thought it was crooked or anything! We are our own worst critics sometimes (well I am!). Sue

I never go back and re-do pages. I'm all about moving forward. I agree with you that it also says something about you and how you've evolved as a scrapbooker and artist. All three of my babies were big too, though he beats all three of mine. He's absolutely adorable as a baby & young man.

Hi Jacky,
What gorgeous layouts. I don't go back and change any of my layouts as I see scrapbooking as a journey just like the journey we are scrapbooking about.
Happy crafting

I completely agree - I would never redo a page and I don't mind admitting my first ones were pretty rough lol

My babies were little. But then my 4lb 11oz boy grew up. To 6' 2". And we don't think he has stopped yet either.

Great post!

thanks for sharing your gorgeous baby pics! He was big and long no wonder you needed a c/section! I have only been scrapping a year so not changed any pages yet!

Both of these are sweet layouts. No, I don't go back and re-do layouts. I tell myself that if I ever get all the photos and stories I have planned completed, I'll go back and re-do! :>) Of course, as we are making new memories every day, I'll never have to worry about going back and re-doing.

I love your baby layout and am amazed at what a big baby your son was! I have gone back and re-done scrapbook pages, but it has been sooo long since I scrapbooked. Seeing your layouts makes me want to catch up on it! Beautiful pages!

I remember that post and layout! :-) And oh my, I had enough trouble with an 8-pounder....

My word! What a big baby! I don't go back and change earlier pages - I think it is a nice reflection of how I was scrapping in my early days - just as you can't go back and retake photos which you might take differently now but you can't because the moment has gone.

Gosh, that's an impressive birth weight! Love the soft blues here. And no, I don't go back either - not enough hours in the day!
