Spring may have arrived!!

After a long, cold winter.......with the kind of snow we only get about every 30 years......Spring seems to have finally arrived in the southern UK......though I say this with fingers crossed while touching wood!!!!!
We've had a glorious, warm, sunny week.........I've been busy in the garden......and it's certainly showing signs it thinks Spring is here.

The sedums are sprouting fast.

The day lily foliage is growing fast.

The aubretia is covered in flowers.

The dozens of annual poppies will need digging up and dividing.
The perenial poppies have loads of foliage.

The dicentra is delicately beautiful.

The plum tree is covered in buds.

The clematis are scrambling upwards.

The standard bay looks like it needs a trim.

And the daffodils are finally in bloom.
I love the promise that Spring brings.......the only problem is the grass....which seems determined to shoot for the sky!!!!

Oh, how lovely. According to the weather man we still have a week to go of winter temperatures, so our flowers will take a while longer to emerge.

You are definitely ahead of us here! We have had temps in the 30's (that's hovering around 0 celcius) all last week. Should be warming up to the 50's this week - yay!

Oh, how I wish it looked like that here! So far, Spring has been depressing with cold rains and cold temperatures. We had one day in the 70's to tease us,and then it plunged back down to the 30's. Fickle Spring!

I'm glad I made the most of that sunshine while it lasted - it seems to have disappeared again! Lovely to see the signs of spring though :-)
