A Busy Weekend

My weekend started with the Stitch & Craft Show at Olympia.......great fun.....We started on the knitting floor.......some really cool stuff........amazing knitted tea cosies
Some knitted blankets......where the needles were the size of garden stakes.........my friend S bought some of these needles!!!
Knit your own Royal Wedding book....the author was present....signing books........
and she'd knitted them and put them all on the balcony
Sadly.....most of the wool was really expensive....so all I bought was 2 rainbow balls......to knit dinosaurs.
The craft floor was a bit sparce.....the main papercraft sellers were at Harrogate....and the stand we went to first was the one we kept returning to.......Ali-Craft.....the guy was demonstrating using soft stencil brushes with distress ink....with great results....and, when he let me have a go, I found it so much easier than the wood block [sorry Tim!!].....so that was a definate sale......here's the one I made....soon to be a card,I think.

and the brushes
I was tempted into some masks....have never really used them before my She Art class......but will be great for the She Art canvases.
And, of course, couldn't resist a few stamps!!
But the thing I love the most....is my Graphic 45 'Curtain Call' pad......I keep just looking at it......it is going to be sooooooooo hard to cut it up....it is just too beautiful!!!!
And lastly we went to the 'stitching' floor.......we'd been really looking forward to this.......but it was just soooooo crowded......and too many stands squashed in......it was impossible to look properly......and none of us actually bought anything on this floor.
All in all we had a great day.......good to see a different exhibition.......a shame 2 big exhibitions chose the same weekend though......but we did all agree.....we definately prefer Ally Pally [just not the journey there].
Finished the weekend with a whole day spent gardening......the weather has been glorious....no coats required.
Hope you've had a good one.

Hi Jacky...
Oohh I do love looking at other peoples craft purchases...especially as I haven't been shopping for a while. I think it must be a condition ...craftaholicism by proxy?
I agree, a lovely paper pack!
the girls were outside in the park all weekend...so I sat with my sister in my craftroom where it was lovely and warm and we chatted, drank copius amounts of tea and did some crafting...
Garden stage 2..ie turf down, coming soon I hope!

Oh my sounds like a wonderful day. I love the photos as well and Graph 45 always makes stunning papers. I love their line, made my 2009 December Daily using their papers.

Wow, I looove the tea cosy, how creative?
It sounds like it was rather busy, it's a shame it took some of the fun out of it.
However, it looks like you did well, great stamps.
Hugs,

Sounds like a fun day. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm looking forward to the Blogging for Scrapbookers as a live class this time as I didn't sign up in time for the first run.

Hi Jacky ~ Sounds like a great time! Too bad about the stitching floor being so packed.

Did I tell you that I signed up for the She Art class starting in April? I have been so inspired by your pieces - I just love them - so I'm going to join in! :o)

Lovely that you had good weather so you could be outside for a while! It's cold and raining in Arizona today.

You did very well Jacky - though I am amazed at what things people come up with to knit! Will has been over here for the last week or so, poor bloke, I think he is sick of bbq sausages and shaking hands!

I love the royal wedding!!! LOL!
Thank you for your lovely comment today on my blog; I don't really think of myself as an inspiration, and that idea really touched me.
Can't wait to see what you do with that Graphic 45 paper. I love masks and stencils.

Sounds like a Grand Day Out indeed!! I love that 'Knit your own royal wedding' idea...what fun!!! Can't wait to see the finished dinosaurs....& I so know where you're coming from on the subject of double sided PP's...I get so cross sometimes when I have to buy two, so that I won't have to choose!!!! How funny that for all of the grandeur of Kensington Olympia, you still prefer Ally Pally...I think I just might too!!

The knitted Royals look very sweet.....I have some giant knitting needles, not quite as big as those but they are big! Will post about them soon :)
