A bit of Alteration

I blogged about DD's bedroom make over  re-decoration in my last post.....in her room she had these Ikea mini draws.......full of little bits and pieces.........you wouldn't want to know exactly what was in them........but still the bare wood as they originally came!!
So I decided to give them a bit of a make over.......to match her new mocha/brown room.
Used a K & Co pad I've had for ages........she wanted 'spotty'......a bit of paper lace added round the edges on top........the sides also have this paper on them.
Did very little embellishing........as they're in constant use.......and any embellishments wouldn't have lasted long at DD's hands..........just a few flowers on top

And very lovely they look too Jacky - I cheated with mine and painted them silver and then just sponged black over the top - but it worked for me. They are so VERY useful aren't they? I keep wire and gemstones and all sorts in my own

I love what you have done with them!! I have several of these in my craft room but they are only stained to match my desk - I may have to take the time to pretty them up!

Looks great! i have my eye on a scruffy set of these very drawers, but they are in TSO's bedroom, full of toddler crayons she can't bear to throw out!

OH that is very, very kute! You can send it to me any time if DD isn't interested! The more embellishing the better! LOL

What a difference a little decorating will do! The drawers certainly look like they came out of a little boutique now instead of just Ikea. You did a beautiful job on them.

You have done a wonderful job Jacky - it would be good to see these drawers in the completed room you know ... just for context of course! ;-)

Fabulous :-) I have several sets of these drawers (good old Ikea!) but haven't done a thing to any of them, I keep meaning to but not getting round to it! You've inspired me to get on with it - hope I actually will this time!!
