A tale of Christmas woe!!!!!!

This is my post for Sian's Christmas Club.........a weekly dose of Christmas past......you can see them all and join in here.
DD2 was born on November 29th........the year her brother and sister were 6 and 4.......still giving me plenty of time to prepare for christmas.......but I did have the foresight to buy and wrap all the christmas presents.......and foresight can be a wonderful thing.......because nothing went to plan........after her birth I was ill and had an extremely high temperature......an xray finally showed internal bleeding........so I was trapped in the hospital.....my mum moved in to look after the children.......but was taken ill and rushed to hospital herself........a different hospital, of course.
So OH and children went to his parents.....poor OH was working.....rushing home to children......rushing to see me.......rushing to see my mum.......children were upset......missing me.....confused by change of routine.....DS even decided to cut his own hair!!!!

Mum came out of hospital......and insisted she be taken round the shops......to buy a 'christmas' dress for the grand daughter she was upset at not seeing for 2 weeks........and brought it to the hospital.
Finally on Christmas Eve I was allowed home.......and, of course, everyone else had prepared a wonderful christmas day for us.........but the only one totally oblivious to it all.......the little girl in the pretty pink dress.........which I still have!!!

And they all lived happily ever after!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a wise mama to have Christmas all prepared that far in advance! And how awful it must have been to be in the hospital for the first month of your little one's life! But she looks so pretty and content on Christmas!

Ahhhh! Jacky, such a sweet story. Even though everyone prepared a lovely christmas for you I bet the best present was just being home and with your loved ones.....excuse me I have a tear in my eye!

I agree, it's a very sweet story. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end and, as you said, everyone lived happily ever after.

Jacky, what an amazing story! I can say at least you were prepared and wrapped everything, the rest must have been very hard. I am so glad to hear it ended up okay but boy oh boy, I bet hearing you could go home Christmas Eve was the best Christmas gift ever!!

What a great story, Jacky. I'm loving the Christmas Club stories and hearing about these memories. Too funny that your DS chose that Christmas to cut his own hair. Ha!
