The Scent of Christmas

I love candles.......especially scented ones......and frequently burn them all through the year.....my favourites are vanilla in the lounge and dining room.......lavender in the bedroom......and citrus scents in the kitchen.......I even occasionally burn chocolate ones......though they are no substitute for the real thing!!
But at christmas it has to be cinnamon and clove......or cinnamon, clove and spiced orange.....I never burn these at any other time......the scent is just too evocative of christmas....they don't feel right at any other time. My absolute favourite is Marks and Spencer cinnamon and clove in a glass jar......though I also get their scented tea lights to dot about in my variety of candle containers. The bottom metal tea light holder on my JYC page was added to the collection this year.
A very simple page.......but as usual with me....simple did not equate to quick.....how does this always happen!!!
I decided to use rub ons for the words.......this is most definately not a quick solution......and does require some ingenuity when you run out of essential letters!!!!
Though I do like how they look......and it is a good way to use up a stack of old ones.
So......do you like candles at christmas.....what scents do you choose?

I'm not big into scented candles, though I could sit and gaze at a lighted candle for hours (or an open fire, or any kind of flame really!) I was given a lovely apple and cinnamon scented one in our house group Secret Santa this year, though - it smells gorgeous!

Love the need to be ingenious with rub on letters - and with stickers - I'm always having to do that!! And yes, simple does not always equal quick...

You've made me want to run and light one right now - that would be the finishing touch because I am feeling very Christmassy indeed today. Cinnamon and orange sounds perfect.

I, too, love candles and have some very nice candles from Heals at the moment. The scent is Gold, Francinsense and Myrrh and they are DIVINE....mmmmmm

Tellingly, my husband and sons spend several days saying "what's that funny smell" when I first instal my candles. I treat them with the contempt they deserve... Lx

I love candles but hubby doesn't so I refrain from burning them. I think it adds to the Christmasy atmosphere but they just make him cough. I suppose the scents are not subtle enough for him.

I love Yankee Candles but I'm not particularly keen of the Christmas scents. My favourites are the same all year round. Lemon, apple or lavender x

Its a lovely page and will be sure to spark a few memories for you when you look back at it. I have no sense of smell so can't enjoy Christmas smells at all:(

I love candles, but forget to light them unless we have company!

I agree, the scents make the holiday! Between the evergreen, the cloves and cinnamon and the fresh poinsettias at the door, I am in heaven! Lovely pages too to capture the holiday.

Happy Holidays Jacky:)

I love the look of candles but having lost my sense of smell, any fragrances are wasted on me! I have two lanterns on my fireplace and I love to see them lit with candles, makes a room seem really cosy.
