It's all about numbers

The Simon Says Stamp and Show Tim Holtz inspired blog .......and what a mouthful that is......has a 'numbers' challenge this week.
I bought this alterable wooden perpetual calendar last year at The Craft Barn.......yes, last year [tut,tut].......to make a present for a friend.....so this challenge has finally inspired me to get on and make it.......only one christmas late!!!!
I began by covering all the edges with metallic gold rub on........as straight edges obviously weren't a priority in the manufacturing process!!
The entire project has used K-ology papers....starting with the number cubes.....as it's not just decorative I used strong double sided tape to adher all the papers [and now I know why I usually use glue!!]....but at least it should be fairly hardwearing.
The numbers [12 of them] were all rubber stamped........and parts of a Paper Artsy flourish stamped on the edges.....plus some more gold rub on.
The month pieces were given a watered down coat of green acrylic paint.
I added some decorative touches to the top as it looked a bit bare........the sentiment and clock are Paper Artsy stamps.
The flowers are Tim's tattered floral die cuts......grunge paper covered with 7 Gypsies clock paper and distressed with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo before being 'scrumpled up'.......and a few green gems added as a final touch.
Stamp Something want' punches and dies'.......so I think it fits there as well.

This is fabulous! Love the colors and those flowers are wonderful. I know for a fact you are not the only one who has alterable projects that have been in the closet for a year (or more).

I'm a big fan of perpetual calendars :-) I found one only today and bought it for a stocking filler Christmas gift for The Doctor! xx

I love this, Jacky! I've been wanting to get something like this for the counter at work - people ask me ALL DAY LONG what the date is when they sign in at our office. I'm a big fan of the colors you used too! Well done. xo
