What to do with some terrible photos!

I have some really terrible photos.....taken at 'Fantasia' in Egypt.......part of the problem is my dire skills at taking indoor photos.......part is the terrible orange lighting effects.......photo editing hardly helped.....my first thought was just to 'store' them......but actually they are a reminder of a very enjoyable evening......which I really wanted in my Egypt album.
In Shimelle's class there are some great collages done in Picasa.....which gave me the idea of putting a few of them in a collage to scrapbook......perhaps that would help??? Not sure!!!!
Have used one of Shimelle's Prompt 4 sketches. And re-used the sketch to scrap the 'official' photo.......to make a double page LO'.........and the colour isn't great in that either!!!!
I've also popped the evening's receipt in the journaling pocket.
Any constructive criticism would be gratefully received!!!!!!

Indoor shots are always very difficult - I have many, many yellow shots! The bottom shot is just fine and looks great in that layout. The collage is also a very good idea - I love to use them too. When it comes to scrapbooking I use the shot no matter how bad it may intially seem, if it tells the story or is all I've got then that is fine for me.

Indoor shots can have better lighting, but it depends on your camera. You can use an external flash and change the white balance, or increase your ISO and ditch the flash altogether. If you don't have a dSLR you can work with the settings and experiment - read the manual, which seems to be often repeated - I suppose that helps too ;-)

Done this way they make a great layout and your choice of bp works to great effect Jacky.

i love the collage idea jacky as i find it blends similar photos together better. maybe u could try some black and white pictures and one colour to stand out. one you really like. sometimes ive found this helps to illustrate a good shot and hide the less good ones.

I don't mind bad photos in the least :) It's the memories they spark off that are the main thing so I'm really glad you put these on a layout to enjoy for the future.

Sorry, I have no tips- apart from one. Check and see if you can change the white balance on your camera to match the lighting conditions. I've been doing this and I can see a difference in my photos. Worth a try.

I was going to suggest black and white too, but I have to say, the collage and choice of paper colours works so well here that you really don't notice a problem with those photos - great layouts, Jacky xx

I agree with other commenters who said try changing the photos to black & white. With the color photos, my other suggestion would be to try matting with a dark color immediately behind the photos rather than the paper that has the orange hue and seems to match/emphasize the orangeness of the photos.

No suggestions - I think the layouts are great! What a good idea to shrink the photos.

Everyone has already given you good suggestions. Although B&W would take care of the orange tinge, I quite like the color since it sets the mood here as well. I think you did a great job, and I agree that the memories are much more important than the quality of the photos.

Your scrapbook pages are some of my absolute favourites - I get a real sense of how fantastic a time you had! I toy with the idea of taking photography lessons but I know to do it properly would just be so expensive - I'm an all or nothing kind of girl (who can't stick to anything for more than 5 minutes lol) Take care my love XOXO

Jacky your layouts are superb and I love the colour. Don't know much about photography love, but sometimes we get hung up on perfection and really it's the memories, and by the way I think the photo's go well with your background colour.
Have fun with it, can't offer any other advice as I love your scrapbook layouts anyway.
Happy crafting

Jacky, I agree with Jo. Whenever I have a really bad photo I turn it into black and white. It amazes me how much better they can look. Even the out of focus ones sort of become soft and dreamy.
