An English Summer

During an English summer.....you get up and open the window to see what the weather is like.......it could be hot.....warm....cold.....rainy.....windy. But for the last 3 weeks I have got up,showered and got dressed without even looking outside.....because I know what the weather is like....it's HOT.......I can feel it.
I am loving this hot weather.......my garden isn't.....English gardens don't do hot and dry.....they do warm and wet......and because our water is metered.....only the pots, fruit and veg have been getting watered........but it's looking so sad that today I'm going to relent and give it a good soaking with the hosepipe this evening......which means it's bound to rain tomorrow!!!!
The dogs aren't very impressed with it either....so at 8a.m. this morning we were on the beach with them running in and out of the sea......them, not us, as the English Channel is still freezing cold!!!!!.
Stella just doesn't get that you bring the ball back.......not run off and chew it up...........much
to Chester's disgust!!!
So while the dogs sleep it off...........now to sit and watch the British Grand Prix........wonder whether we can have more success at this than the football!!

I feel your heat and I can imagine it is harder in the UK. Michigan has much more snow than you do during the year - but we are supposed to have cooler temps also in the summer. We hit 95 this week - miserable!
Love seeing your "poochies" playing in the water...our boxer loves to play with the water hose...strangest thing ever! Hoping you have cooler temps soon! Happy Sunday!

After a week of over 90° temps, the heat wave has ended here. What a relief! It's now the perfect weather--cool in the morning and evening and warm in the afternoon. I'd like to find a year-round climate like this. Hope yours breaks soon, too.

I love that second picture of your dogs! They both look SO happy! It's interesting to see the beautiful rocks on your beach. And I know what you mean about the heat. We are in the thick of it here in Arizona...SO tired of extreme heat day after day...September can't come fast enough!

Hi Jacky...first of all I just wanted to apologise for forgetting your birthday. I even had it written down in my craft room but seeing as I haven't had time to set foot in there recently it went by the by. Hope you had a fab time! Loved all your Egypt scrapbook pages and I loved your MCdonalds story...Hubby used to work for them when he was a lad and loved it so we are often taken there after cinema or on drives back from shops etc. Nothing better than a milkshake on days like these. Thanks for your comment re; sons stinky clothes .Very funny! I have to admit I looked at the socks and did think they needed chucking.

Looks like a fabulous sunny day at the beach! But the pooches look like they could really tire you out! You must need a nap!

We have the same thing here in Pennsylvania! Two solid weeks of temps in the 90's and 100's and no rain left our grass brown and all of our trees stressed. Several of the trees are dropping leaves like it is fall. We finally got some rain yesterday, but I'm afraid it may be too little too late.

We had an inch and a half of rain yesterday so we are feeling a bit washed out over here.

I hope you enjoyed the Grand Prix as much as we did, wasn't it a great race?

Love Rinda's comment!
Isn't it great to watch happy dogs cooling down in the sea? They look like they are having so much fun.

Jacky, I feel your pain. I, like Cheri, live in Pennsylvania and the weather just sucks. Love your beach photos but where's the sand? Looks like your beaches have stones on them unlike our sandy beaches. Bit hard on bare feet I bet!

Hi Jacky, thanks for the lovely comment on my blog! I am loving the heat at the moment. You are so lucky you live by the sea, the dogs seem to enjoy it too! Abi xxx

Great photos Jacky, I am so jealous of your lovely weather. Our gardens are squishy with the rain!

You would know by now that it was an Aussie victory - to make up for all of the shocking cricket losses we've had this year!

Our Bronte girl would be a good match for your Stella - balls are banned, and foam and a whole lot of other stuff too!
