Wedding Party

My brother got married at Easter.........in Edinburgh.......without telling anyone.......just him, his partner, their daughter and 2 witnesses. He told us all the following day!!!
But.....this Sunday......he had a 'Wedding Party' in London for 70 relatives and friends.

The poem on the invitation was written by my niece.......a 10 year old's 'take' on marriage.....let's hope she's right...........click on the pic to read.
We asked him what type of clothes to wear.......was it 'smart' or 'informal'.........he told us he was wearing jeans and a bright shirt........and his partner might be wearing a dress.......not very helpful then!!!!! Once we were there our DDs decided most of the guests were 'posh' and that they looked like 'chavs'.....I thought they both looked lovely......and we all definately enjoyed ourselves.
And no speeches to listen to........just our niece.....who got up on a chair with a bottle and said "I'm glad they got married' before raising the bottle......and we all toasted them. Perfect.

I'm guessing I'm not the first person to remark upon the family resemblance!

This is my favourite kind of scrapbooking - with momentoes and souvenirs right there on the page. Fantastic!

Love your pages Jacky! Sounds like the party was fun...and a lot less expensive than a traditional wedding!

You must have been so surprised! What a lovely way to get married, without all the razzamatazz and stress, just a lovely big party after the event.
Looks like you all had a great time (and I see no Chavs!)

What a great way to have a party! I love the poem and I'm super impressed you have scrapped the event already .... I'd better get some of my sister's stories down before I forget!
