May Day Motorbike Mania

The motorbikes started coming early morning.......and carried on all day........it must be the May Bank Holiday........the motorbikers annual seaside jaunt.......up to 15,000 bikers pouring into our little coastal town......the centre turned into a vast bike park.
There's a heightened police presence......but rarely any trouble.......unlike back in the 60s........ when 'mods and rockers' fought pitched battles, turning the town into a war zone.
And there's bikes of every sort.
Big ones and small ones.
New ones and old ones.
And just plain weird ones.
And at the other end of town.......there's something else going on......which also draws big crowds........and lots of visitors.......it's probably the traders favourite day of the year.......and the rain held off........pop back tomorrow to see the 'other' event.......which was great fun.

That's funny we have loads of bikes here to...for the six day trials event held here every year at the start of May.....normally it chucks it down the whole week, but it has got off to a good start..just hope the weather holds!lol

Great photos! But since I have no interest in the bikes, can't wait to see what is happening at the other end of town!

Hmmm, what could this 'other' event be that coincides with a motor bike meeting ....?

I'm with Rinda on the Quadrophenia thing! Looks like the rain stayed away at least

I nearly got out to have a look but just as I thought about it the rain started and boy it chucked it down, so I stayed nice and warm in my craft room. I never actually go out on my bike May Day there are some right loonies out there, but I like to walk the mile to see the bikes :O) You could say I'm 'green' with envy Jacky lol

Of course, if I still had my bike I might have been there too . . . but, as it is, I'm sunning myself instead!!
Hope you are feeling better Jacky

Now that would be too much fun! Our bike week is coming up in June, can't wait. Love to hear the rumble of the bikes as they go through town!
