I think the 'Legacy of Love' transparency was originally in a kit.......but I do know I've had it for at least 5 years........I also printed the words under the photo onto a transparency.......and used some torn vellum to tone down the backing paper........the photo frames and ribbon holder are metal, distressed with acrylic paint and distress ink.........very few embellishments as DS would not approve.....and I will add some journaling along the top.
The title is so apt.......DS was my mum's first grandchild........she adored him from birth.......and the feeling was quickly reciprocated.........they spent hours together........from age 10 he would spend every Saturday doing her shopping, housework and helping in her garden.
Sadly she died 5 years ago......on the morning of her funeral DS went and picked flowers and greenery from her garden because "gran would like that" and put on the casket with a note saying 'I love you, gran, and nothing will ever be the same again'
Now DS is soon to be a dad himself........I hope this page will remind him of happy times from his own childhood......and the great legacy that love gives us.

Wow, it just shows you that if you keep something long enough you get to use it in the perfect way :)
Oh, Jacky, what a nice layout and beautiful post you have written here! A tear-jerker first thing this morning!
Do you ever use your blog post script for your layout journaling? I was thinking about that the other day - usually the story I tell in my blog post is perfect for a scrapbook page.
Also, very cool that you will soon be a grandmother yourself! Is this your first?
What a sweet son you have. I teared up when I read about him picking flowers for his grandmother. It's a beautiful memory page for your son and I'm sure he will love it.

This is a lovely page and such a beautiful record of that special bond between your mum and your son.

That's so beautiful, Jacky - the story and the layout xx
What a wonderful page--the design & the content are both special. That's a big project you've undertaken. I have a birthday album almost completed for my daughter, but haven't started my son's.
ah such a sweet tale - it nearly made me cry, as lost my nan and grandad recently, still feels like yesterday - gorgeous page
loving the sentiment and emotion in this LO. I also love all the Easter makes with the cute rabbit image. I have been away for a week so I am catching up with blogs. Also I really believe that chocolate loving is a hormonal thing!!!
Awww, what a lovely idea! They'll love them!
(My brother made me a photo album a few years ago of my childhood and I just cried my way through every page, it was such a sweet present!)
