I love using sketches

I love using sketches when making cards and scrapbook pages..........they give you a starting point to build on.........and allow you to concentrate on the pictures, papers and embellishments..........they also encourage you to use designs you might have avoided without the sketch to inspire..............I enjoy the simple ones [like the one I've used today] but also the more complex ones........... I imagine digital templates are a similar thing for digi scrapping.
There's loads of sites for finding card sketches.......2 of the best are Friday Sketchers [who I've used today].......and Sketch Saturday.........for scrapbooking I like Pencil Lines.....but need to find some more scrapbooking ones.
Rainy Tilda is very apt [we seem to have gone from snow to permanent rain]..........the papers are from the gorgeous MME paper pad free with Cardmaking & Papercraft this month.....a freebie well worth having........card is DCWV.........flowers are Magnolia......Dovecraft brads..........SU sentiment and oval punches......and used a Martha Stewart border punch.
Am entering this into a few challenges including Friday Sketchers.........Crafty Creations and Pollycraft want 'wings'..........ABC want 'new' which is the papers.
How do others feel about sketches........do you like them........any favourite sites to recommend.......or do you think they're cheating?!

I quite like sketches at times as I don't have to spend so long planning (this part can take me hours!!) so it is handy when u are lacking in the ol mojo!!

I love the idea of sketches, I love looking at sketches and how others have used them, but I've only ever made a card using a sketch once. I don't even know why lol - I think they're a great idea!

I feel the same way about using templates for digital work. It's a starting off point where you can either add or subtract from what the designer had in mind. Love your cards!

Jacky - you always make the cutest dang cards! The digi version of sketches - templates - can give you a starting place to jump off or can streamline a page to the point that you only need to choose papers and photos. I LOVE them!

You've hit the nail an the head - digi templates are just the same - I LOVE them for this reason. Recently I've been able to maintain a good output of pages and it is all due to using a sketch/template, they are a great idea :-)
Today's rainy girl is lovely by the way!
