Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts at Brighton

Yesterday spent a very enjoyable morning with friends at The Creative Stitches + Hobbycrafts Exhibition at Brighton.........this is quite a small exhibition.......but I like the fact you can see a wide variety of craft exhibitors........papercrafts, wool and textiles......some crafts people exhibiting their work........saw some wonderful quilting and felt work.......as well as a display of all the costumes from 'The Duchess' film.
Despite the small number of exhibiters....I still found plenty of stash to buy!!
Another 11 x 8.5 album [am loving this size....a bargain at £3.99]......3 Crafty Individuals stamps [a change from my usual 'cute']...........Tim Holtz applicator and felts [hopefully better for distressing than the cotton wool balls I use now] plus some of his grunge paper .........a flower die and really mini flower punch.........platinum ink pad........some fabric [for my conservatory throw....a work in progress].........a vellum glue runner and knitting stitches holder.
So today.......... couldn't wait to have a play with the stamps..........though I think I need a bit of practise .........the Crafty Individuals stamps are much trickier to stamp with than my usual
ones.
This was stamped with Memento black ink and then the flowers inked with silver, embossed with holographic powder and finally painted with glossy accents........then a PM black gem popped in each.......they are quite shiny and raised, but this doesn't really show in photo.
Everything was layered up a lot........grey and black flowers were punched with a gem in the centre........and the sentiment is part of another Crafty Individuals stamp.
Scrap Weekly in 2010 want a card this week........Fab n Funky want 'embossing'........and Secret Crafter want 'monochrome and white'
And I can't believe....it is now SNOWING  again.......not what I wanted to see!!

Love how you used the stamps, and you got a bunch of nice items from the Exhibition. I think if it does snow a bit, you will have lots to keep you occupied!

Fantastic! Those flowers are great, and don't you love new stamps? I got a few in the post last week and took two new ones out for a spin this weekend. You'll see your layering influence on my contribution at Scrap Weekly! They're the stampotique ones you like so much - why are they so expensive where you are? Is it the postage?

Ooh, you lucky thing! Exhibitions like that are very thin on the ground round here. That's some good shopping you did :) I would love to have seen those costumes too. Sounds like an excellent day out!

I have been eyeballing that set for a little while now - love what you did with it... what a fabulous card!!!!!! I really enjoyed reading your profile as it made me laugh so much. I am sure my previous cat helped build the extension on our vets - they should have called it the Cleo memorial wing! Have a happy day, Jo x
