A card - but it's made me twitch!

After planting 3 new fruit trees in the garden......decided to relax and make a card.......coloured the gorjuss girl in some lovely deep pinks........big mistake......I always choose papers first and colour the image to match.......so then I couldn't find any papers the right pink.......but on the shelf were 2 Basic Grey papers ready for a planned scrap page.........I never, ever use 12 x 12 papers to make a card.........they were the perfect colour.........ignored them and went on searching through my scraps and mini pads..........I never use 12 x 12 papers to make a card........but they just kept calling out to me........they were so perfect.........I never use 12 x 12 papers to make a card..........only finally [after a lot of wasted time] I did........I love the result........but am still twitching cause I've never used 12 x 12 papers to make a card!!

Now, as usual, the colours haven't come out well in the photo.......more of a deep burgundy.
Gorjuss girl coloured with copics.........BG Perhaps papers [twitch, twitch]...........the plain burgundy card came from Lidl!......flowers and gems came from a lovely little goodie bag I won on Kath's blog...........the sentiment is Clare Curd.........lots and lots of layering on this card.
I followed the sketch on Truly Scrumptious.........some dimension for Totally Gorjuss........pink for Crazy4Challenges...... and the layering for A Spoonful of Sugar
Now I think I'm off to do some deep breathing exercises........to get over the trauma of this!!

Oh dear, hope the twitching is improving lol. I to use 12 x 12 all the time but then I prefer to scrap on 8 x 8 so I can't lose. I think it was worth it though the card looks really rich in colour and matches your images perfectly.

That card NEEDED those papers Jackie. It would be WRONG to deny it...very wrong indeed. You can breathe easy tonight knowing you did the right thing... Lauren x

great card! I have started to use a few of my 12 x 12 papers as I am not very keen on some of them and also I have not yet completed a LO.... but I will!

lol! Well done you overcoming that hurdle - I rarely use 12 by 12s on a card but it has been known, and I did get over it, so there is hope for you hun x

The Basic Grey colors are perfect for your card. See how freeing it is to actually cut into a sheet of 12x12? You can always use the rest of the sheets to accent your 12x12 layouts.

Well done! They are the perfect colour so they just had to be used. And I bet you've still got bits left over. Even when I'm scrapping I still find cutting into a sheet really hard..it's ok if I'm cutting the whole sheet into bits; but not if I'm just wanting a little bit of it.

Really lovely Jacky, I don't like cutting 12 x 12's up either, but sometimes you can't always get the right paper. And your papers look perfect for this card.
Happy crafting

Hi Jacky....Sorry I haven't visited in a while...I have had a good catch up now though! I am loving your scrapbook pages..I keep saying I am going to do some with our recent events but I haven't even got last summers photos printed off the camera yet! Must do it in one big blow out! Talking of which...your shopping trip was a bit epic but you did do well on the bargains! I love those red Lakeland Buckets...I bet Chichester won't have any left....
I didn't know it was Brighton Show this week and at the moment I have no plans to go...I am alone with the girls as hubby will be at work!
Also have no money spare and no space to fit anymore in....
Are you going? Chat to you soon!

Hi Jacky - tee-hee!! I had that rule (never use 12" x 12" for cards) I've abandoned it, 6x6 aren't big enough - I wish more companies woudl do 8x8. Well worth it though with this gorgeous card.
Fabulous GG and delicious details.
Thanks so much for playing along with us at TS.
