A nostalgic journey....or old age creeping on!!

I've been scrapping more of Cornwall.......we spent a morning on the Bodmin Steam Railway....... chugging through the countryside......a 2 hour walk along the Camel Trail.......no camels sadly....... along the old railway track passing through some of the 'halts' that the train stopped at......break for a cream tea.....obligatory in Cornwall,of course, so no excuses needed......then back to Bodmin on the train.......where the Real Ale Festival was a definate plus for the boys!!!
I love steam trains.....and as I'm not a little boy.......I must be ancient........I remember laying in bed as a young [very young!!!] child......listening to the trains steam in and out of the station at the bottom of our road........it seemed a very comforting sound to drift off to sleep to........a diesel engine just doesn't have the same effect!!!!!.......this nostalgia makes me feel old.....which I don't like.......but is much better than the alternative.

Wow, I love your scrapbook page, there's something magical about steam trains, I love anything old and things modernize too quickly, that we forget what once was, but through scrapbooking we can personally remember things and pass it on.
As you can tell Jacky I'm an old 40year old either that or it was being constantly told stories by my mum and grandmas.
Happy crafting

Its a lovely page jacky, love the way you kept the tickets etc. There's nothing wrong with feeling old so long as you don't act it lol. Just revel in the nice feelings your memory has created.

I like what you've done with your LO. My DH would love to visit here, I'm certain.

Hi again Jacky, thanks for the welcome back to blog land. It really cheered me. I love your scrapbook pages, aren't you organised! I have always aspired to being organised!!! never made it though. We (me & my DH) are spending more and more time tramping round in the mud in the countryside, I think that is our particular age thing, though it is quite weird as we are both city dwellers.
Once again thanks for the welcome.

A family friend of ours hails from the Cornwall area ... she is a long way from home here in Australia - it's sounds like such a pretty place, I hope I can come over for a visit one day.

I can remember 'Ladies Only' carriages on the trains round here. Not sure that would be allowed nowadays. The men would think they were being discriminated against! I can imagine how lovely your train journey was, it's a lovely part of the world.
