Starting without a photo

I rarely make a scrapbook page before I choose the photos....I tend to build the page around the photos.....but I took a kit to the Bloggers Weekend last year.....and built up the basics of a double page layout.....I did have using some photos from our holiday last year in mind....but it's only this week I finally put it all together!
I love the arrow die that someone at the Bloggers weekend had.....and used it all over these pages.
I also loved the trike tour round the island....after the first 5 minutes of fear!
I hadn't intended b + w photos on this page....the printer [for reasons unknown to me] made a unilateral decision to print them like this......I was going to reprint in colour.....but decided it was a waste of ink and that b + w did at least go fairly well with the papers!!
I added a few tickets to the pages.....and will probably tuck some of the brochures/timetables etc. into the back of the page protectors.

Super colours for your photos - are they Crate papers? I think I might have been scared for longer than five minutes, myself :).

Yep, I think the colours are wonderful too.

I've only ever been on a moped. Once.

I love it so much now it's completed. The arrows are perfect for the movement of the bikes and I really love the b & w photos as well as colour. It is a fab page with loads of extras. Initially I thought you'd hidden pictures and memorabilia in a secret openning piece lol

It may not have been your intention to use B&W photos, but they work really well. I like the arrows too. Great pair of pages.

I don't think I ever have started without the photo, but I must say, this came out perfectly!

Obviously you have a very clever printer as the B&W photos work so well.

I've never put a page together without photos first, I'll have to give it a go x

Hi Jacky,
I have been a very bad blogger of late. Just spend too much time at work! Love your layout here and your christmas cards. The little stitched beach scene was really cute. Well done for finishing at home too!

I really like your use of the arrows! I rarely create with a photo to start, too, but I've enjoyed completing the partial layouts from Scrapbook Expo. It's been a FUN challenge to find the right photos.
